It started a few months ago and have tried numerous calls to bell support.
When I try to login to my Online Voicemail i get the following error:
The service is currently unavailable, please try again later. (Cannot read properties of null (reading 'childNodes'))
I have tried on my computer in Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge and on my Cell phone browser and all come with the same error.
When I inspect the page to look at what is coming back from the Login Web service I see the following response:
The requested URL was rejected. Please consult with your administrator.
Can you please fix your Online voicemail service!

Hey there @User3395, thanks for your post and welcome to the Bell Community.
Are you using Fibe Home Phone or Copper service?
Have you tried going through the activation process on your home phone line to see if that allows you access? You would just dial *98 and follow the prompts to activate. For all the steps check out How to use Online Voice Mail for my Bell Home phone
Another thing to consider is that any changes to your account/services could have resulted in the feature being removed.

I switched from Rogers to Bell and had read they had this online feature for home phone. Great I thought
like you I kept trying that page with lots of errors. Similar but sometimes different. sometimes it would load but said service not available call to activate or something.
Try opening an incognito window see if it works
after all the phone calls back and forth getting page working I was told oh that’s only available if your on copper. It doesn’t work with Fibe home phone
just curious are you using Fibe or copper?

@BellPatricia I'm dumbfounded that Bell would not offer this service if you're on fiber instead of copper?? I want to check this online when travelling internationally. I was disappointed to be told that, i may have not switched from Rogers if i had know. Or is it just me being told this?

I had troubles accessing the online voicemail page all the time try it. Talk to support, said try an incognito window. Did that, worked. Enter my phone, says service not available, call support.
Then I'm told this online service only works for copper, not fiber. I find that hard to believe in this day and age of technology.
Can anyone on fibre confirm if they have or don't have this working with their home phone package?

Thanks

OMG! We just switched to fibre when the issue started. Mystery solved. I will be contacting them to complain though. I asked them to confirm that nothing would change if we switched to fibre and they promised...
Thanks for responding!!!

Sort of glad that helped solve your frustration but I’m disappointed it’s not available. I used it a lot with Rogers when out of North America. This will be first year away with bell and I truly hope the toll free numbers to check remotely work where I’m headed. Sometimes you can’t call toll free numbers from different countries I’ve found
It says you can call Dial 1 877 BELL-777 (1 877 235-5777) from anywhere in Canada or the U.S
I’m going to be outside North America.

@BellPatricia it seems that multiple threads on this forum have concluded that online access to voicemail works on copper lines but not on fibre (which we upgraded to a few months ago). Is Bell working on a fix? We all get the message
| The service is currently unavailable, please try again later. (null is not an object (evaluating 'xml.childNodes')) |
so it would appear to be a simple coding bug. Online access to voicemail is needed when outside North America; People using Fibre should not be penalized.

I second that. Again. When my term with Bell finishes I will be considering switching back to Rogers just because of the lack of this feature

webmessage.bell.ca only works on my iPhone Safari browser. On desktop, Firefox had login error; Google Chrome login button non-functioning; able to login with Microsoft Edge but menu buttons non-functioning. Shame on Bell for continuing to charge $3/month for a service which they are not maintaining. More than one Bell agent told me that this service is expired except for legacy accounts.

Hi there @User900
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
We would recommend making sure that all your browsers are up to date, turn off any VPN's / ad blockers, clear your browser cache / cookies and try again. If the issue persists, are you able to share a screenshot of the Firefox error you are receiving?
For the Google Chrome browser is the button greyed out or is it just not doing anything when you click it?
Looking forward to hearing back.
