Cannot ping Giga Hub if IP was not given by DHCP server

Hi

I set a static IP on my Windows computer in the same subnet as the BellGiga

I cannot ping the BellGiga or use it as a gateway.

If I configure my computer to receive an address ftom the Giga DHCP it will ping I will be able to navigate the internet

I set my IP to 192.168.***.
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway to 192.168.199.**  (BellGiga IP)
DNS: 8.8.8.8 (Google)
it wont ping to 192.168.199.** and dont have access to Internet
If I get the IP from the the GigaDHCP I get an addresse in the same range and everything works
It seems the BellGiga wont allow connection if the IP adresse was not given by itself

This is only a test.
Ultimately I want to use a different DHCP server so I can set reservations and use my own Access point for IOT devices.

Use the DHCP server, get an IP and see what the default gateway is.

I don't remember the default settings for the home hub, but I don't think the default is 192.168.199.xxx

I think it is 192.168.2.1
