Hi @Lucille,
Welcome to the Bell Community 🙂
Rebooting your modem may result in a different IP address being assigned, but it is not guaranteed.
Have a nice day,

Try unplugging it for 30 minutes and plug it back in.

Yes, that can happen. Cloudflare is technically speaking not a true VPN, so you might have better luck with them than a regular VPN.
Another option would be to use WTFast, however, that is not a free service. They are typically not banned from gaming servers as they provide gaming specific "advantages".

Hello,
Every time I want to change the IP it doesn't work, I tried to reset the modem, I tried unplugging the modem but I always come back to the same public IP.
How does Bell attribute an IP to a modem, is it by the b1xxxxx, is it by the SFP, or is it by the Mac Address of the modem ?
Maybe by changing my b1xxxxx temporarily ?
Maybe by changing my pwd temporarily ?
Maybe by connecting a SFP via an adapter to a router and changing the router's MAC address ?
Thanks

Why would you wish to change your IP? None of the methods you suggest would change your IP, how ever. It is assigned by Bell.

It's probably attributed by the MAC address. Only a modem provisioned by Bell will work on Bell's network.
I had my public IP address changed by a Bell tech support person when I was a having a problem. Otherwise it has changed two or three times without a specific intervention.
You could try a factory reset. Make notes on any custom settings you made, as they will be lost.

If you have a "problem" with your assigned IP, another option is to use a free service called "Cloudflare WARP". Be aware this will act like a VPN and therefore your connection will be subject to slower speeds, although Cloudflare can still reach half a gigabit on a good day.
If you install it on Windows there's a taskbar icon allowing you to turn the service on or off with the click of a mouse button.

I have seen some gaming hosts (seen it on private servers through EA, as an example) ban users for using a VPN. I can't speak to Cloudflare, specifically.

Hi,
If I want to change my home internet IP address, how would I do that? I reboot my modem but it wont change.
What if I change the modem then the IP address is still the same one assigned? or Would I need to leave Bell and move to another home internet company?
