Failed to connect Roborock vacuum cleaner to Bell Wi-Fi

We have a Roborock vacuum cleaner which perfectly worked with my previous Fido Wi-Fi. We changed the Bell and it just doesn’t work.

We split the Wi-Fi to 2.4 and 5G, changed all the name and password to small English letters and numbers. We also tried turned off the 5G, also tried guest Wi-Fi, all of them failed.

we brought the robot to friends’ place, it immediately connected to Fido Wi-Fi. Anyone has any ideas on any Wi-Fi configuration we can try? We tried to change bandwidth to 20, 40, changed channel to 1 or 11(like friends’ settings) it still doesn’t work.

Thanks soooo much in advance!

Thanks for the suggestions! Just want to give an update for everyone experiencing the same issue. The solution is to buy a router and connect to Bell 4000 home, it immediately worked. I got this one: D-Link Wireless N 300 Mbps Home Cloud App-Enabled Broadband Router

Hi Luan,

Sounds like you need to reset the vacuum wifi or complete a factory reset. A third option you can try is a less conventional approach.

1. To reset the vacuum wifi just press and hold the partial clean & charge button at the same time till you hear a voice prompt. The wifi light should start flashing indicating a reset has been completed. Try to connect it to Bell now but keep in mind that it might only work with 2.4 GHz and not 5 GHz.

2. The less conventional approach is change your WiFi name to your old Fido wifi name. That will trick the vacuum into connecting to what it thinks is the old connection. This approach might be a pain because you will need to reconnect all you other devices to the new wifi name.

good luck, these things can be frustrating but let us know how it turns out.

Thanks so much for sharing your solution with us @luan852. 🙂

Ever since changing my home internet from Virgin to Bell, I've been unable to connect to other devices - in particular my vacuum.

Good Day.

To begin with can you please share with the community the model of your iRobot & the device you are using to track your personal activity? What is the make & model of your mobile device or tablet? Are you using a computer as well? Are you using the PAI that is associated with Google, Apple, Samsung, etc.

You mentioned that you switched Internet providers from Virgin to Bell. Since doing so, have you been able to connect to your Wi-Fi network? Which Bell modem do you have? Home Hub 2000, 3000, 4000 or Giga Hub

It is somewhat difficult to answer your question with the limited information that you have provided. I have included a few ideas that come to mind:

  1. Did you change your Wi-Fi name & password?
  2. Did you delete your previous Wi-Fi network and re-establish a new Wi-Fi network?
  3. Have you reset your Wi-Fi by turning your Wi-Fi: OFF > ON
  4. Have you updated & change the Wi-Fi setup on both of these?
  5. Have you powered off the iRobot & PAI device?
  6. Verified the apps & OS are up to date?
  7. Please delete the apps and following the manufactures instructions to reset your iRobot. Once you have completed this, treat this a new install and setup the iRobot once again.

Have you contacted the manufactures?
