I recently upgrade to the Fibe 3 GB plan, and they installed a new Giga Hub 2. The first modem wouldn't allow most of my 2.4 Ghz devices to connect so Bell replaced it. The new one seems to mostly work with 2.4 Ghz devices but I have these issues that I can't get figured out. I don't want to install a separate wifi router just for these, but I have to that's where I'll go.
- Can't ping ANY external websites, they just time out. Not a killer, but annoying as this is a super useful diagnostic practice I use all the time.
- i have a game, Nine Chronicles, it won't connect on any device I try.
- Ring doorbell won't connect. I tried the guest network, and the main network. It says successful, but never registers. Feels like a router / firewall issue.
- Raspberry PI with a specific application reporting GPS statistics connects, but then is blocked after awhile reaching it's website that it talks to.
I can't find anywhere in the web app or the router setting page that show me firewall setting and/or logs of blocked applications. Any ideas of what could be causing these specific issues? We have a house full of computers, people and devices and all of the other things seem to work (right now)......

Thanks for your concern. How many computers and devices are you attempting to connect? Have you tried a factory reset? This will erase any customizations, but may allow you to start over.

Are you using a VPN? You should be able to always ping 8.8.8.8
If it times out perform a traceroute to 8.8.8.8 to see what that shows as a route.

Yes, that's the default for Bell GigaHubs and Home Hubs.

I would log into the gigahub and it should have the option to ping an ip directly from the modem menu.
Try that and see what happens. It should be under advanced tools and settings, if that menu is still available on the latest version of the gigahub.

I can do that. But that doesn't help me when I run pings from my desktop, and have multiple running pings going in windows for diagnostic and monitoring purposes.

It would help rule out a modem configuration issue if it works from the modem directly.

As mentioned, it does work from the modem directly.

Is there any other equipment connected to the home hub besides unmanaged switches, like managed switches or a router?
