New Webmail - Format and Feature Issues

I am trying to get used to the new email format. I love some of the changes but am having difficulty with others.

When I click on the square box next to the subject line when I first open my email link it now automatically opens to the email. In the past, I could click on the square box for several emails(they wouldn't automatically open again) and I could move them all at once to a select file folder. Now I have to move each one individually which is very time consuming. Is there a step I am missing or is this just the new way and if it is can this be addressed in an update?

I also find the font size smaller than before. I am not sure if it is because of the font size or if the colour was changed on the font but it is now hard to differentiate between unopened emails and opened emails. Is there some way I can change the colour of the font and the size? I have looked into my email settings as well as my browser settings but I couldn't see anything.

Would love any help anyone can give! Thank You

I'll just tag onto this.  When is the BELL aggravation going to stop? This morning after I send a new email and go back to start the formatting of the page has changed to horizontal. and I have to now reset the format to verticle. This is new today. Now they butt in in the middle of this asking for approval. When will BELL stop trying to help us and just leave the mess they created alone and allow us to struggle through daily with the so called UPGRADES. Protocal does not permit me to use stronger language on the forum.

Hi @Mike1363
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to share a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Which device / browser are you using and are you able to test another device?

Looking forward to hearing back.

How do I sync my email on my phone and computer so that when I delete my email on my phone it is permanently deleted?

I have emails from November that keep fetching to my phone.

Hi Rhonda.
I would need to know details of how you are accessing Bell email to give specific advice.
In general, however, you should log out of Bell email on all other devices and test only on your computer, where you will have more control of what goes on and a larger screen. Then you should do the following using the Bell webmail site.
Then you should (1) delete one of the problem messages, (2) log off, (3) close all bell windows, (4) delete bell cookies, (5) log back on to Bell mail again, and (5) see if the message has been deleted.
If it was a cookie problem, you may need to repeat the steps.
Good luck!
David.

Hi there @Rhonda
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Just to clarify, are you trying to set it up so that when you delete emails from your phone it stays on your computer, or are you looking to get it so that when you delete the email on your phone, it is deleted from both phone and computer?
Looking forward to hearing back.

Hi,

As Bell e-mail does not integrate fully with Outlook, it is necessary to connect to dav.webmail.bell.net to synchronize contacts and calendars fully.  Everything was working fine for several years using Dav5x until the last few weeks, when I started to get error messages and was no longer able to sync records.

Support at Dav5x have pointed to an issue with the Bell dav.webmail connection.  I have tried to connect directly and receive a connection closed or address not found message.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? Has Bell changed something again without letting anyone know?

Many thanks for any advice.

Cheers.

I'm not even sure how to describe this problem. When I am typing an email in Bell mail there seems to be memory issues. If I type quickly, the letters show up on the screen with a serious delay, and if I get too far ahead they don't show up at all. The cursor jumps around and suddenly will be in the middle of another paragraph, or nowhere at all. It is not an issue with my device or keyboard as it happens exclusively in Bell webmail. It is so frustrating. I have stuck with this email service because I have used the address for years in many contexts, and it's one of the few reasons I am still with Bell. Is there a fix for this or do I use my gmail account and give up on my Bell email account?

Thanks

Hi there @SG, thanks for your post!
Can you share which browser you're using, and if the same thing happens when you test on a different browser?
Does this affect all emails you are typing, or just ones going to a certain address?

Firefox, and all emails I am typing. I'll test with another browser.

Is there a way to to make the vertical view stay instead of having to select it each time I open Bell mail? I am using google on a PC.

Hi there @iann
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you still experiencing issues with your vertical view? To start, we would recommend clearing your browser history, cookies and cache. If this does not work are you able to test on an alternate browser to see if it remembers your view selection?
Can you also clarify which browser you are using and how you are accessing your Bell mail?
Are you able to share what PC you have?
Looking forward to hearing back.

John-Davidson,

Can you please advise how I can set a default font style and size for Webmail. I cannot find a setting anywhere. It is interesting that I can set a default font and size when I setup my signature, but not for composing new messages. The only option I see is HTML or not. If I want a change, I have to modify for every email I send.

I am using desktop Chrome Version 121.0.6167.86 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Win11

There is no setting that allows you to change the default font size for Webmail. You can only change these settings when you are composing a new message. Webmail does not have all of the bells, whistles & options that are available in an email client such Outlook, etc.

Thank you reaching to the Bell Community Forum.

Take care.

you can only change the format in the email you're sending so you need to do it every time.  on the outgoing email look at the taskbar there should be 4 capital A's one if for the font, one for size, one is for colour and the 4th is for background as in highlighting.  Unfortunately, you can't do it permanently.  hope this helps.

I don't like the NEW Sympatico Web-mail.  Why can't we just keep it simple.

I find myself having to remember more passwords and more aggravation trying to  set myself up in Outlook.  I don't understand why I have to combine these with outlook.  I am by no means a computer person!
