Sagecom 5689e/hh4000 dropping packets on ppp errors

new customer, hardware details the following random messages but it loses packets while these occur.  Reading many threads on the internet about it but not here.  There doesn't seem to be a cure.  Running firmware 1.19.6.

3gig up and down but I haven't even began to attack it with traffic yet.

Hi @dean701

Given the firmware you mentioned, you have the GigaHub. I've seen these messages in my HH4K logs since Day 1 of FTTH service, and I have no 3rd-party LAN hardware running at this time. Do you have a firewall/router on your LAN?

I get reasonable ping times.

There's a thread on the Bell forum at DSLR. You may want to post your issue there.  https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r33777200-Bell-Gigahub-1-19-5-1-Firmware-incompatible-with-pfSense

Hi @dean701,

Welcome to the Bell Community, and thank you for reaching out.

What is it that you are doing when you experience this?

Are you using any third party equipment such as a router? If you are, can you test by unplugging the router and then connect directly to your Home Hub 4000?

Please keep the Community posted.

- Patricia

Hi Patricia, these are direct messages from the Hub 4000 leading to the egress.   All devices are plugged into the Bell router directly as well as wifi and they all experience occasionally drops usually when these log entries are occurring.

I have changed almost all setting back and forth to see if anything changes.  Feel free to dial in anytime to monitor.  Recent logs as of today.

there was a message on dslreports that stated that the Bell Canada forum on that site was being depreciated and to post here.  As previously stated, I am not using a firewall.  Regardless I will read that thread.  thanks.

No, the one being deprecated is the Bell Direct Forum. It was one-on-one direct support with customers, and was completely private. The forum I linked is public Bell one, with lots of good info being exchanged.

At the time I read your first post, you had not commented on 3rd-party equipment on your LAN.
