Hey Everyone
I recently purchase a Synology NAS system and I have it hooked up on my home network via ethernet directly to the HH4000. Im my house I have the HH4000 hooked up to a mesh network for better wifi coverage. The issue I am running into is when I try to set up my NAS on my macbook remotely as a drive and not just the web client. I can access everything perfectly fine when I am on my home network but not when I am outside of it. I have tried a bunch of different options such as a VPN, Webdav, ect and nothing will connect.
I am not a network genius by any means and I am probably missing something pretty simple but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am assuming you are using quickconnect and have it configured? Synology Quickconnect

You will have to open the correct port(s) on the home hub for remote access on your NAS to work.
It's called port forwarding, see this video for more details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A76Sec9VsRU

Thanks! I have tried that and I set up the rule but when I try to connect to it from outside my network it does not work. I have been able to get a program called Tailscale to work but it is quite slow. I have heard other people have had better success with it but I cannot for the life of me figure it out.
