HI
In my continuing battle to stem the flow of spam email I'd like to know if there is an option to temporarily disable a Bell email account rather than delete it. I'd still like to use the address but perhaps disabling it will bounce the spam and reduce the amount received.
Thanks....

After decades of using Bell, I am about to cancel because I cannot continue with the dozens of junk emails that fill up my mailbox every day. Blocking senders and domains has absolutely no effect - I am been trying for months. Is Bell doing anything to improve its systems and provide any kind of protection? I do not have these problems with any provider except for Bell.

I realize there are a lot of suggestions for curtailing spam but my mail client block and delete filters now contain over 4,000 items. This is beyond ridiculous. Worse, the blocked items in my mail client seem to have no effect on the same subsequent spam mail being sent to my mobile devices (iPhone and iPad). Blocking addresses on my Apple devices is ineffective as there's no way that I've found nor any that Apple support has to offer that will allow one to block email pseudonyms. The result is we receive many emails under the same pseudonym but all with different email addresses. I lodged a trouble ticket re this issue with Bell and the most recent feedback I received was that someone is available to change my hardware (copper to fiber), plus a recommendation to send my 4,000+ blocked emails to Bell abuse. The Bell abuse recommendation is to send the header info on all suspicious emails. Does anyone else see what's wrong with this picture?

My inbox on Bell Mail is constantly inundated with Spam and Phishing messages. Can Bell not do a better job of blocking these? I have a Gmail account and they do a great job of filtering them out. Why can't Bell do the same?

Thank you for your question. You are not obligated to pay for a spam filter if you choose not to. The level of spam comes and goes, as I have discovered. Most are from @gmail accounts and in my case, are fraudulent Bell bills or attempts to steal my login credentials. I agree, it's annoying.

Since the start of 2025 the number of SPAM and Phishing emails that i have received on my Bell.net account has increased substantially. I get approximately 20-30 of these messages every day. The subject lines are changed slightly each time and the sending domain is constantly changing so there is no easy way to implement blocking in the client.
Why is Bell suddenly doing such a poor job in detecting and blocking these emails?

It's likely the spammers have found new ways to spam.

Unfortunately spammers are getting smarter. It is a game of Whack-a-Mole, unfortunately.

Odd they all got much smarter at the same time so the spam filter went from blocking most to blocking none overnight.

Spam seems to come in waves. I get a lot of fake Bell phishing emails one week and none the next. I was getting a bunch of fake CAA emails last week and then none.

The amount of spam I receive is unbearable. Marking emails as spam doesn't work. You should do somethng about it

Unethical conduct by Bell. There is no spam filter working, and in fact, the more I indicate "block domain or sender" or mention it is phishing, the number of fraudulent emails increases. Bell needs to fix their internet email service.

Thanks for your concern. I share your experience. Scammers use this season to overwhelm email systems, hoping we will let our guard down and click on their link. The key for me is to look at the email address. They all seem to say info@UPPERlowercaseletters.c**. I mark them as spam. Frustrating, I agree. I count seven in the last four hours already.
