Wi-Fi Pod Speed Tests

Up until recently I was getting between 300-600 mbps on my POD and Hub over wifi. (I don't have wired connections) However, I am at best getting around 150-200 mbps on my POD now (no change with the Hub, and there was no change to my set up).  I rebooted everything to see if it would make a difference, but it remains the same.    This has been going on for about a week, and measured at different times throughout the day.

When I run the Bell wifi checkup, it is showing a download speed of 1.8 gbps on the hub, and 1.5 gbps on the POD - with a strong signal to all my devices.  That said, I see no difference in the performance of any of my devices. I also note that the Bell wifi app is showing my devices are getting 2-3x the speed that I see when I run Speedtest or Fast.

I am curious as to why the POD speed connectivitiy has dropped in half, and why Bell keeps sending me promotions to upgrade my speed, when I can't even come close to getting the speed I pay for now.

Any update to this at all for us?

At this point Bell shouldn't be advertising the Pods as being 6E capable.  False advertising.  I'm convinced there are many more users than the ones posting here experiencing the issue but are simply unaware they aren't getting what they pay for.

Does anyone know if there would be a way to make a formal complaint somewhere for false advertising?

UPDATE:

Thank you all for your continued dedication to the Bell Community Forum.

An update to the Giga Hub and HH4000 modem firmware will be coming over the next 4-6 weeks.

Thank you for everyone’s patience during the update process.

Thank you. I am truly (and pleasantly) surprised that Bell would dedicate resources to this. I apologize if my earlier comment seemed cynical.

Was there an update pushed out today?  I am getting 350-400 off the POD now.

You might be right, I just checked and getting 500/500 roughly on my 6E pods...hmmmm. I'll have to check the logs.

@WebGeeks All my devices that are connecting to the PODs are experiencing much faster speeds than before.

Thank you but I am quite capable of reading the responses.  Clearly some of us are now experiencing faster speeds today as the PODs are no longer capped at 200.

take care

An easier way to determine if you have the new firmware is to use the modem dashboard. The new firmware is 2.14.

Thank you for your gracious reply.

As mentioned by @dks login to your Bell modem. Select > Advanced tools. Select > About.  The new Firmware version is: 2.14

Take care.

Too little, too late. Complete insult to customers to expect us to wait an average of 8 months for glaring issues to be fixed. For hardware we pay for, no less! Bell has only shown they are not trustworthy with this kind of hardware.

I'll be returning my pod and requesting a full refund for each of those eight months.

I am still on 2.13.1, how do I force the update (Giga hub) ?

I was desperately waiting for this fix like everyone else.
