Hi, after I make changes in the router separating the different router speeds with different names and passwords for my liking, but when I open my bell wifi app and login to any one of the different wifi settings, it forces the router to change all the others to that one I logged into. example.. name each wifi say... slow ... fast .. faster so its easier to detect which one a system is connected to.. and say most systems I wanna set internet times on are connected to fast.. if i go in my bell wifi app and log in under fast, it will let me setup the blocks and so on, but it also changes the slow and the faster wifi to the same name and password as fast... very annoying and not what I want. is there a way around this without that happening? i returned one modem thinking it was the modem, because all my other wifi signals would be gone, but soon realized its an app and modem issue.

Hi there @crazydevil70, thanks for your post and welcome to the Bell Community.
Use of the Bell Wi-Fi app requires Whole Home Wi-Fi to be enabled. For that reason, unfortunately it is not possible to configure a different Wi-Fi name on the 2.4GHz, 5.0Ghz, 6.0GHz and use the app at the same time.

Hi.. thanks for the reply... That is a very annoying feature and seems like it would be a simple change in the app.. even better would be web site to work the setting also as it would be easier to do from PC than phone lol.. just food for thought for possible future updates.. so web access or Windows app.. and able to change settings and still block devices.. just have the app be able to log into a specific wifi and make changes to that specific one only.

Using the Giga hub modem with the whole home wifi enabled I do not see any devices connecting to 5ghz even though they support this. Noticed this after upgrading from home hub 4000. I do have IOT devices that only work on 2.4ghz but the whole point of whole home wifi is to determine and seperate the devices as available to the proper speeds. If I go to advanced settings and setup individual ssids for 2.4 vs 5 this works. but then I lose the settings if I use the bell wifi app it goes back to whole home wifi, which I want to use for access control.

So far love your services.. seems reliable and constant other than thinking some devices should be getting better speed than they are..now for my suggestion.. modem and wifi app should be better with access and control.. main thing I don't like is that if I change settings on modem and have different names and passwords door different speeds.. 2.5 GHz.. 5 GHz and 6 GHz. So I can make sure devices are connected and stay connected to the speed I want.. if I try to access my modem with your wifi app.. it changes all back to one wifi name and password cause some devices to lose access.. which in turn makes using the parental controls a serious pain.. would be better is you could access the wifi you wanted and setup controls to one that you choose without it changing the modem back to factory .. which brings me to one last improvement that would be great.. and that's web access from a desktop computer that would allow you to change and block and schedule parental controls rather than just from phone or tablet... It's a pain trying to configure one change.

Hello,
I want to block internet access to some devices on my network. All Bell resources ask me to use the Wi-Fi application but I cannot use it because that application does not work unless "Whole Home Wi-Fi" feature is enabled but I don't want to enable that feature (I need different SSIDs across the bands).
A chat agent told me it's impossible to achieve what I am describing (block internet access to specific devices while having different SSIDs for the different bands).
Is it really impossible to achieve that? This makes no sense, why would someone make internet access control conditional to some WiFi app? I could not be using WiFi at all but still want to restrict internet access to my wired devices...
Anyone has a solution? I have a Giga Hub running firmware 1.16.5

Hi there,
I am finding that my Bell modem is randomly undoing settings I've changed. Like I had it so I had a separate 2.4ghz network with a separate name/password in order to set up some smarthome stuff. Then the next day for seemingly no reason, it had re-combined the networks on its own and given all 3 networks the password of the 2.4ghz but the name of the 5/6ghz network. All my stuff stopped working and I had to re-setup everything. Any idea why this would be?
Thanks

I agree that the Wifi app needs to still function with custom wireless set up of the Giga hub. I have disabled wifi on the Giga hub as I am using a wireless router as an access point. The wifi app should still allow parental controls even if whole home wifi is off. Instead when opening the app I need to name the wifi network and that turns on the whole home wifi and wireless radios which I don't want on. Please consider adjusting this.

A Bell rep just had me uninstall the Bell wifi app from my phone as he made modem adjustments and the wifi app is designed to function with Bell pods..and is ON by default. Anyway using the app will nullify his changes, and i need to know why my devices have been randomly losing wifi connection for a few seconds lately. Would anyone know how to access my modem without the wifi app so as to control my sevices

Just to be clear here that bell wifi app is when your on whole home wifi. What's the use of this app then if I can't control who can be on my wifi? Most of the smart homes have different broadband since some smart devices only connects to 2.4g and if you don't split your 2.4 with your 5g your devices will always disconnect and will connect to the strongest available broadband. I didn't have this problem with Rogers. This could be a real changer to switch.

Can we please have the option to adjust wifi access via the web interface? Or at least disable forced Whole Home Wifi in Bell Wifi app?
