Thank you for your concern. This is a known issue with the latest 2.13 firmware. It has been reported by users in the past. There is no current solution and no negative effect noted. There is no reason to reduce your WiFi transmission power, unless you wish to, as it will reduce the effective range of your WiFi signal. My own Giga Hub runs at 71% CPU usage with pods while doing nothing except one wired and three wireless (pod) connections.

Hello,

Does the modem reboot at 100% load? That is the main concern as I run nightly backups.

Also how high does the 'load number averages' go? I've seen screenshots of 6 and 7 at 100% but mines goes to 100% with as low as 4? When its in the range of 2-3 I'm happy as it is anywhere between 50-70%

These numbers:

Load average

Last minute:2.35

Last 5 minutes:2.25

Last 15 minutes :2.20

Thank you for your question. No user has reported the Giga Hub rebooting at 100% loads. If any user has had that happen, I am sure they will speak up.

That's good to hear. In that case I'll set the transmit power back to how it was.

Please update this thread once a potential firmware fix is out so users such as myself can provide feedback!

Thank you for your feedback. Bell does take note of issues in the Community Forum. Any feedback or concerns have to go back to the modem manufacturer for any change in the firmware. Bell does not make changes themselves. The current firmware has been in service for about six months. There is no word on if or when a new firmware will be offered. Bell also does not provide release notes for their products.

Along with the high cpu, there is definitely a memory leak even on 2.14.  As soon as this hits 510MB free, it is very slow until reboot.

Can you elaborate on what “very slow” means or looks like? Is it impacting your web browsing, TV or other activity?
