Troubleshooting Slow or Lost Data Connection

We’ve all had this happen before: you’ve lost your data connection or data speeds are slow. Not to worry. Here are a few quick troubleshooting steps to run through.

Initial Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Restart Your Phone: It sounds simple, but sometimes turning your phone off and on is all you need for a fresh connection to the network.
  2. Update Your OS: Make sure your phone is on the most up-to-date operating system.

Check Your Phone Settings

Verify these basic settings on your device:

  • Turn airplane mode on and then off.
  • Turn Wi-Fi off to ensure you're testing the mobile network.
  • Make sure mobile data connectivity is enabled.
  • Check that your network mode is set to automatic.
  • Confirm you have network coverage in your current location.
  • Ensure you haven’t used all of your monthly data or exceeded your maximum speed data limit.

Advanced Help

If none of those steps work, you may need to get a little more technical. The steps can vary depending on your phone model.
