The same UK bank has no issues sending SMS to a Singaporean phone number. This feels a bell issue. Are you filtering such things as spam.

I am having the same issue. My service was wth Virgin. I switched to Bell and had my phone number transferred. This happened yesterday. Since then I have been unable to receive the Text verification messages. Please help

Hi there, @Attituderich4. Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.

Please give the recommended tip in the accepted solution from @Sgw a try, with sending HELP to the short code 28849. This will reset your 2FA routing and can take 24-48 hours.

If the issue persists after this time, please let us know and share which services or apps that you're trying to make use of 2FA with are not working.

Let us know if you were still in need of assistance.

Capitol One and Chase Bank have been trying to send me texts, they have confirmed they've gone through but I haven't received them Could they be blocked? How do I allow these to go through?

Any number of things can block a text from being received. I can only assume you are also referencing authentications & 2-Step verifications as well.

  • Check your device settings & verify if your phone is set to block messages from unknown senders.
  • No network connection
  • Wrong number provided.
  • Is your device up to date?
  • Have you rebooted your device recently?
  • Check your blocked numbers
  • Check your message box is not so full that it is masking some of your messages. Clean it up.
  • Airplane mode on.

Give these a try and let us know.

Take care.

Please elaborate on this. Your device make & model?

Is your phone up to date? Current iOS & OS? Have you checked blocked senders? Did a full hard boot of your device?

What type of device are you using? I have include three of the more popular manufacturers: Apple, Android, & Samsung. Depending on your device & version history, these procedures may be slightly different.

Apple: When you block a phone number or contact, they can still leave a voicemail, but you won't get a notification. Messages that are sent or received won't be delivered. Also, the contact won't get a notification that the call or message was blocked. To undo this, you need remove the blocked number from your blocked list.

Android: This can be done by opening the Contacts or Phone app, selecting the contact you want, and tapping on the three dots or the edit button. From there, you can select the option to send the contact directly to voicemail by enabling the "Send to voicemail" or "All calls to voicemail" feature, depending on your device. You can also cancel this by disabling this feature. It is important to note that this feature may vary slightly depending on the model and Android version of your device.

Samsung: This can be done through several steps depending on the model of your phone. However, generally, you can go to the Contacts app, select the contact you want to send to voicemail, and click on the three dots or options menu. From there, you should see an option to send the contact to voicemail. When selected, any incoming calls from this contact will automatically be directed to your voicemail without ringing your phone. To remove this feature, disable this option.

Motorola & Google Pixel: Both use the Android system & once again depending on the device & version, it will be similar but not necessarily the same as Apple, Android or Samsung.

Hey there @mendesmanuel  and @Scott5440

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your posts.

We wanted to check in to see if you were able to test out the sending HELP or INFO to 28849 trick? If you receive a reply, this means your text authentication is working properly.

Give it a try and keep the Community updated with the results.

I get a Twilio response but I tried this weeks ago and received the same thing when I wasn't getting Bank of America texts.
