I received an email last month about the price increases coming in February 2025. The email said that there would be a $2.50 increase per TV service. What is a TV service? Does this mean the number of TVs connected to the network or the number of TV channel packages? Beyond the basic channel package, I currently subscribe to two other packages. Thank you.

My bill used to be below 200$ then went to 206 and bell said it’s cause of inflation. Now my bill is 220.amaxing how my contract ends and you just raise the price as you feel. I’m sure they’ll blame it on inflation again. That’s why your stock is at a 15 year low. Selling the stocks and going with Roger’s for phones

Its because you have to log into mybell online, and check the mail there. They don't actually add it to any emailed bill, they hide it, not in plain sight. Making it your responsibility to check their online website for any mail. But when it comes to sending you a bill to your email account, they're all for doing that. They just can't be bothered to include a coming price hike notification to it, because then it would be in plain sight and they may lose customers. It never once crossed their minds that by being sneaky about it, they may lose MORE customers because of their deception.

Thank you for your concern. Because billing dates are variable, Bell does not send notices about service in e-mails. Because those notices are unique to each subscriber, they are always in the bill itself. The expectation is that you will check the MyBell web page for your account and billing matters. In the new web interface, announcements are also much more visible.
No utility I an aware of, including another telecom provider, electrical and natural gas utility, include notices of rate increases in their billing notice e-mail. It is always on the bill itself. Your utilities may be different, however. The expectation is that we will look at and review our bills, no matter what form they are delivered in.
The MyBell web page and the software for smartphones and tablets make this much easier, too.

Thank you for your post. Because billing dates are variable, rate change announcements can be at different times through the year. They are found in your bill, but the changes to one account are not universal to all customers.

Unfortunately yes with at least 30 days notice as written in our contract with them and per CRTC regulation in writing via post on www bell ca in your Bill Statement, on my bell account on web or app, email.
Depending upon the wording in your contract, typically item 2, can Bell change the terms, it tells us they can and the amount of notice of at least 30 days, 60 days on some CRTC mandated items related to Internet.
My own version of my contract allows me to decline to continue my service without penalty, but I suspect that conditions on paying balance of phone, returning devices would apply.
Yes, the contract is very one-sided. The only thing they can't do is reduce any discounts before any end date in your contract for the term of discounts unless you change your plan, and they have to provide a critical summary of the impact of changes of the plan compared to previous plans as defined and required by the CRTC but unfortunately if you change there is usually no going back to the original plan.
So long and short of it all. Yes they can. If you decide you want a different plan that may be more financially acceptable while meeting your service choices do contact them and discuss your choices whether it be with Bell or another service provider. This part of the contract is pretty much the same with most provider, although I only know from experience with 4 providers over the years.
It is your choice whether to not accept the increase by cancelling your plan, but understand the impact all of your options by exploring options. 30 days does not give you a lot of time.
For most of us who are on electronic billing check the second page of your bill for notices of change as soon as your bill is issued. Although some people have experienced not getting notice of their bill via email, the date never changes.
If you are not receiving notice contact Bell and find out how to get that turned on.
Great question, Bruce

you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. When did this change. My past plan I was locked in for two years without any price increases. If you make us lock in for two years you should not increase our payment. Mine went up 6 dollars after five months. How many more times is it going to go up in the next 18 months. I guess you guys don’t make enough money. Very disappointed

I just received an increase in my Bell bill and just moved to this new home Feb. 1/25. Don’t understand why I am getting an increase already. Yesterday the satellite has taken off stations I always use such as CBC news- the internet is unreliable- satellite will disconnect in the middle of hockey or shows and states it is disconnected. I have had to contact technical support who are never helpful. I regret signing up with Bell. Why do I have stations taken off my satellite plan and why an increase in fees for terrible and unreliable service?

I just spent literally months renegotiating my bell services fees. After only about 2 months of the new fee's they have already increased the internet fee by $6 a month. They state they may increase fee 'from time to time'. What exactly does this mean, it's very vague.

It means just that from time to time.
Since the CRTC rules say a customer must have 30 days notice and that most typically is on the first of the month, if you got your first bill less than the 30 days to price increase, you wouldn't get it on the next bill it would occur prorated I believe once you hit 30 days from notice.
On the my bell app under current bill you will see alerts. My last bill I got a notice of the wireless code this notice obligated to give to us on a certain frequency by the CRTC. Do take time to learn these rights. A notice of cancellation of channels on May 20th, 37 days after my bill date and a brag notice of an award they received.
So I would guess that if you will find this notice or you are speaking of upcoming increase notice.
By CRTC they can increase any service price, but cannot change contract bound discounts or credits. They just have to give us at least 30 days notice.
You will find the current ones up front on the current bill page. In a bill you will find these notices in the relevant bill section.
Same for all companies. The people on the phone you are buying from does not know how future increases will occur because it is based upon the days you get your bill.
Hope that helps. The CRTC is currently asking for input on topics like notice to new customers and are considering creating a standard nutritional label of services for all companies. Complaints and concerns like yours have increased dramatically over the last six months and they also want to know about quality of service like you pay for 5 g can you get it in your neighbourhood, speed standards etc.
So yes from time to time with 30 days notice they can remove channels on tv increase prices. Do read your contracts everyone very closely as well as the CRTC rights documents and complaints processes.

I became a Bell Fibe internet subscriber a year ago through a promotional offering. In 1 year, Bell has increased the price twice. First, by $5 after 3 months then after another 9 months an additional $6. Is that a common experience? I understood at signup that there could be increases, but 25+% in one year?

My bill shot up, no listed changes to my account. There was no "fees are increasing email."
I called the number, requested a call back.
Bell called back. After a two-minute convo the rep said he would look into why my rates have gone up.
That was 26 minutes ago and counting. I've been sitting on hold this whole time.
My theory is that they're doing this on purpose, hoping I'll just give up, and pay their stupid fee increase without any questions. Anyone else have similar stories? Let's talk.
Oh wait-28 minutes on hold and counting now.
