Canadian resident travelling to US then a Caribbean cruise

Good morning, I’m a Canadian resident driving to US then boarding a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas. What kind of coverage is the best?  I am purchasing on board the ship an Internet package but was curious what ours cover. Thanks for any help.

Hey there @Merrimac1

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

Available travel packages will depend on the specific location where you're planning on using your mobile phone. Depending on where you will be visiting while on the Cruise, your best option may be our Roam BetterOpens in a new tab or windowas the feature is compatible with over 200 international destinations.

You can also visit our website on our travel support article.Opens in a new tab or window On the page you will see a map with a drop down menu that you can select your travel locations and it will show you the pay-per-usage rates (if no travel package is added to your account) and best travel package options.

As cruise ships have their own communication system in place, only pay-per-use rates apply (Travel packages will not work on the cruise ship).

I am in Greece and would like to download an app for local communication. They need to send a code to my phone, but I don’t have roaming on my phone due to the expense of it. If I take my phone out of roam for just long enough to receive the code will the cost be $2.50 for the minute it would take or would I be charged for any data etc. that could possibly bombard my phone?

If I am going on a cruise for 4 months and the ship has cellular service provided by "Cellular at Sea", what do I need to get in order for my wife to check in at home twice a day?  Will roam better work or a travel pass or something else?

Thanks

Can I enable my phone to work in Chile?

I am traveling to the US in December for a cruise. Will I be able to turn off data and not be charged for roaming? What is data protocol for a cruise?

Going on a trip to Mexico from Canada for 1 week.  What is the best plan for internet and text messaging while abroad?

Do I get charge to receive text messages in Asia ?

I’m travelling to the states for about 3 weeks in May. Is there a plan I can add that will give me talk and text for the three weeks?

I would like to take my phone with me to Italy .  15$ per day for usage

what exactly does this cover?
and if I don’t turn it on or keep it in airplane mode will I still be charged 15/ day?

If you use it, there will be a charge. If you turn it off & it is in airplane mode, it can not be used, therefore, there is no charge.

If you have no plans on using it, then you can do 1 of 2 things:

  1. Cal Bell mobility & disable the feature completely or
  2. Restrict access completely and access it on a need be basis.

Either way, you would need to contact Bell Mobility with what you want to do before you need to use it!

Call: 1-800-667-0123 or * 611 from your mobile phone.

Can I update my cell phone for a week while out of Canada?

I have a  Canada/US plan. Is that good if you m in Europe for a week?

What time zone does the 24 hours clock start and end when roaming in Europe

does roam like home cover phone cell use internationally?
