Cancelling Home Phone, Fibe/Satellite TV, Internet & Equipment return/refunds

Is it possible to cancel my Fibe tv and internet via MyBell? I understand I can call on the phone but have trouble hearing sometimes and prefer a "written" confirmation that I've cancelled those services (but am keeping my land line).

Is there anywhere or any way, on MyBell, to confirm that I purchased my PVR / receiver from Bell way back when? I agreed to pay extra for a certain number of years and then it would "be all mine", as explained to me at the time. The online bills don't go back far enough to show this (over 10 years ago). There are no equipment rentals on my recent bills, also no option to "deactivate" my PVR / receiver like there is on the other 2 devicrs that play but don't record. Do either of these prove that I purchased it?  I did read a thread elsewhere on here that a customer with a satellite receiver was told they had to return or pay for it even though they, too, were under the impression they'd purchased it.

Lastly, is it best to wait for labels to arrive in the mail or try to print my own through the "return equipment" procedure? I realize returning equipment does not cancel the service. And do we have a choice between using Purolator or Canada Post?

Thanks very much for any help or insight.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum

@Stuw Is this a return due to a repair or are you returning your modem as a result of a cancellation of your Bell Internet account?

If this is a return due to a cancellation of your Internet, have you already contacted Bell to cancel your service?  If not, please: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) before you return your rental equipment.

Your Bell modem can be returned by going to this web link: Bell - Equipment return . Click on the appropriate boxes and fill out the form. Once the form is completed, you can email / print off the return label(s) to have the equipment mailed back.

Good Day.

If you don't have a prepaid shipping label to return your equipment to Bell:

  1. Visit the Bell equipment return portal to request a prepaid return shipping label. Depending on what you are returning, you will need your Internet and/or TV account number. Refer to the links below for instructions on returning each type of equipment.
  2. Once your request is submitted, you will receive an email with a scannable QR code that acts as your prepaid shipping label. If you have access to a printer, the email also contains a link to print out the shipping label.
  3. Package the equipment so that it can be shipped safely (a box is recommended).
  4. Bring the email with the scannable QR code to the shipper who will scan it and attach a shipping label (waybill) to your box.

If this is a return due to a cancellation of your Internet or TV service, have you already contacted Bell to cancel your service?  If not, please: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) before you return your rental equipment.

Hi,

Today, I got a surprise when I open my  Bell e-bill and notice a one-time non return charge( $299.00) for a Fibe TV Box that I already return via drop off at Bureau En Gros ( a designated drop off point) for Purolator Courier.  The Fibe TV Box was promptly return last year ( Oct 2024) when I cancelled my Bell Fibe TV Service. The tracking number on the Purolator Courier show that the TV Box arrived at its final destination.

So my question is: Why am I being charged for something that  I already return ? How do I get this charge remove from my bill ?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

I wish I could assist you in this matter, but I cannot. This is a community forum, a peer-to-peer site. As such, we do not have access to your account or billing records.

I trust you have a copy of your return receipt. Please retain this & contact Bell Customer Service & request to speak to a manager.

You mentioned the return was from last Oct. 2024. That was 9 months ago. Is this the first notification that you have received since then? Non equipment return fees are normally applied after the 30 day expiry return window closes.
Did you receive a return label directly from Bell Customer Service or did create one online on the return portal? Did you include your account information on the return label?

After your service is cancelled, return instructions are sent to by mail within 10 business days. The letter includes a prepaid shipping label for free returns. If you wish to return your equipment prior to receiving the shipping label or if the label does not arrive within 10 business days, visit bell.ca/equipmentreturn or check out How to return your Bell equipment

If you were billed for a return in error, Bell will make the appropriate adjusts.

Take care.

After waiting 3 months, my request to cancel our home phone has turned into a ridiculous mess - I was paying $20/month before I cancelled the line and now Bell is charging us $50/month and we have not had ANY home phone service since February!  To top it off, we changed our satellite TV channels as the same time and since then, the Satellite TV never works for more than a few hours and instead we get the message that the satellite is out when the weather is excellent or that the channel is not available - when it is one we are still subscribed to.  Bell has always been infuriating to deal with but it has gotten significantly more disappointing.  The website only lets you buy more and won't let you cancel anything?  If I call on the phone it takes excessive times on the phone waiting and then even longer with the service rep and then they don't do what you request.

Worse, now our mobility coverage is failing all the time - we pay for 3 phones and they never get cell service.  Our monthly bill was >$600 for the past 10 years and this is how they treat their customers?

How can we fix our account with someone at Bell who is capable of actually getting the invoice and services to work and reflect what we are actually subscribed to?  Who do we call?

Returned PVR receiver. Do I get a credit for it?

WelshTerrier

Good Day.

Yes. Your account will be credit once Bell receives the PVR receiver. Was this a rental PVR receiver that you are wishing to return? Was this return due to a repair or are you returning your PVR receiver as a result of a cancellation of your Bell TV account?

In either instance, if have you already been charged a non-return fee for rented equipment that has not been returned, it takes up to two billing cycles from the date you returned the equipment to receive the credit.

Your rented equipment needs to be returned to Bell within 30 days, if not, then an equipment non-return fee may be charged to your account for each piece of rental equipment outstanding. E.g. PVR receiver, power supply, etc.

Your Bell PVR receiver can be returned by going to this web link: Bell - Equipment return . Click on the appropriate boxes and fill out the form. Once the form is completed, you can email / print off the return label(s) to have the equipment mailed back.
