Charges for texting to Canadian Phone outside of Canada

Hello!  I was wondering if I could send text to a Canadian phone outside of Canada and receive text messages from a Canadian phone outside of Canada without charges? thank you🙂

Hey there @Ellen, 

Great question and @AlexS is right, first thing is to check to make sure you have texting included in your plan. 

The important factor here will be; where are you physically when sending the text messages and what is the phone number you're sending it to. If you're in Canada and sending a text message to a Canadian phone number, their location (even if they are outside of Canada) won't matter and you wouldn't be charged any differently.

All Incoming text messages received on your phone are free regardless of your location(this does not apply to picture & video messages/MMS while traveling outside of Canada).
