Multifactor Authentication telphone number change

Bell is starting to require the Mutlifactor Authencation (MFA) security for accessing the MyBell site.  However, I cannot change the telephone number to a number that is not provided on Bell Mobility.  The registered cellphone is a simple "dumb" flip-phone with no data plan. Can this MFA telephone number be changed?

Good Day.

When logging in to MyBell, you may sometimes be asked for a one-time verification code. Once you receive the code, you should never share it with anyone and should only use it on the one-time verification code validation screen.

Only the email associated with your MyBell profile is required to use multi-factor authentication (MFA). After logging in for the first time, you can edit your profile to change your email address or to add a mobile phone number to use with multi-factor authentication (MFA). Your mobile device must be able to send & receive a text message.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

When logging in to your MyBell account, you may sometimes be asked for a one-time verification code. You will not necessarily be asked each & every time that you do login to your MyBell account.

If you have not been asked, to enter a verification code then there is no requirement for you to do so at this time.

You mentioned: "I went to my profile, to security and there is no where to be found." Can you elaborate?

Your Bell profile is stored in your MyBell account. To access your profile:

  1. Log in to MyBell as usual by entering your username and password.
  2. If prompted, a verification will be sent to your email address on file.
  3. Enter the one-time verification code to finish logging in to your account.
  4. Once you have logged in your MyBell account, you will be able to view your profile. To do so: Select > My profile. Select > MyBell. All of your MyBell profile information is stored on the right side of this page. E.g. email address, etc. If you do not have a mobile phone, then it will not be listed.

I was not able to set up Multifactor authentification. I went to my profile, to security and there is no where to be found. It is frustrating..and by the way there is no cellphone associated to my account neither..and every time that I do a search abour the subject the same info that you provided shows up...

You mentioned that when the first MFA request is asked and you use your email to get your MFA, I would be able to add a phone number.  This then created my MFA settings in my profile correctly.
