I set up automatic bell payment through Tangerine and it says on MyBell that I am late paying it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
❗AI Summary:
When you set up pre-authorized payments, the withdrawal of funds from your bank account or credit card does not happen immediately on the next bill's due date. It's important to note that it can take one full billing cycle for pre-authorized payments to become active after you first enroll. For this reason, it is recommended to make a manual payment for your first bill after setting up pre-authorized payments to avoid any late fees.
You can review your billing and payment history, including your bill date, due date and any upcoming pre-authorized payment dates, by logging into MyBell.
Key Factors Influencing Pre-Authorized Payment Timing
Billing Cycle: Your bill is issued on the same date each month, and this date is typically determined by when services were first activated. Bell services are billed one month in advance and payment processing times are determined by the type of pre-authorized payment chosen.
Payment Method Processing Time:
- Pre-authorized debit: Withdrawals from a bank account can take up to 18 calendar days to be processed after your bill date.
- Pre-authorized credit card: Payments made with a credit card are typically processed within 7 business days after your bill date.

Simple question, but I am curious. I just set up my bill payment for being pre authorized. Normally they are due on the 15th of the month. Today is Dec 11th. I would like to know when do they automatically put the payment through. As it does not look like it went through. I want to make sure I did it correctly and to avoid having a " late payment" to discover it is not properly done.

If you just set up your Pre-authorized payment, & your current bill was already issued, you will need to make a payment in order to avoid a late payment. All subsequent bill payments will be withdrawn from the Pre-authorized bank or credit card account.
You will be able to see when it is processed & your account is credited with the payment on MyBell. You should also be able to see your method of Payment chosen if you select Pre-authorized payment in One Bill.
I have included the following web chart to assist you.
The processing time that I mention below is approximate. For example:
- Pre-authorized debit: Every month, up to 18 calendar days after the bill date
- Pre-authorized credit card: Every month, up to 7 business days after the bill date
The processing time is always dependant on the payment method you use.
Hopefully I have been able to answer your question.

I set up a pre-authorized payment with my credit card at the beginning of February. The Bell website says the payment was supposed to be made on February 16th. However, it's now February 24th and I just received an alert that my account is past due. Any idea what's going on?

I set up a pre-authorized payment using my credit card, my bill due date is Feb 29th, when will the payment be withdrawn from my account? Is it on due date or a week prior or ten days or the day the bill is issued? there was no explanation on that.

Bell processes your payment upon receipt. Bell does not process the payment in advance.
Once your payment is received your account is updated immediately. The processing time line they follow depends on the payment method you choose to use. For example, the following is a table of the payment guidelines that presently Bell uses.
Pre-Authorized Debit: - Every month, up to 18 calendar days after the bill date
Pre-Authorized Credit: - Every month, up to 7 business days after the bill date
Thank you for contacting the Bell Community Forum.
Take care.

Hello all.
I'm just curious how many other people have seen this.
I have logged into my account and it tells me my payments are overdue. I have a credit card on file and they bill me directly. Bit when I log into my account I get a pop up that tells me to pay my bill with a link to making payments conveniently right next to the notice.
Now I have to waste my time calling in to verify payments are made and made on time. Please fix your app bell.

having this exact problem. Not really happy to spend the rest of today and likely a chunk of tomorrow calling credit card companies and being in a wait line with these people for hours.

Hi. Just signed up for pre-auth on CC. I just received my first bill. Is the payment charged on the day the bill is generated or on billing due date? (I.e. do I need to make my 1st payment manually as the bill is out, or will it be taken out on due date?)

Bell processes your payment upon receipt. Bell does not process the payment in advance.
If you just signed up for Pre-authorized Credit card payments, then you should make a manual payment to be safe. If you overpay, your account will be credited & any overpayment will be applied to your next monthly bill. Do not adjust your pre-authorized payment.

The main factors involved in calculating a credit score are:
- Your payment history
- Your used credit vs. your available credit
- The length of your credit history
- Public records
- Number of inquiries into your credit file is a minor factor.
Have you discussed your account with Bell Customer Service & advised them of your manual payment?

I subscribed to bell internet and I started using bell application where I authorized bell for pre authorized payment from my account on due date.
I am surprised to see Bell didnt taken out the payment from my credit card on my first due payment. I paid it manually after due date. I am worried if this will affect my credit score and credit report.
