Yes, it is likely a scammer text. Do NOT under any circumstances, click on the link. You can always use the My Bell app to check the status of your account to see if you have an outstanding balance.

I received two suspect sms messages from 1-613-XXX-XXXX

It said "Hi Mom, my old phone fell completely broken. I lost many of my contacts and pictures. I hope I can recover them" - Definitely spam. They also asked me to send them an SMS to another number. None of my grown children would send this. BEWARE

 

I am getting so many spam sms since changing my service to bell. So frustrating.

Good catch. And you are correct. A phishing text. Delete it.
