This is undoubtedly a scam. Known as "smishing".
Remember, we will never send you a direct SMS regarding bill corrections, credits, account or identification updates etc. and will never direct you to click on a 3rd party website or send account info via SMS etc. When in doubt, always play it safe and never click any link.
Please forward the smishing attempt to 7726 (SPAM), delete the SMS and block the number for your security.
If you suspect that you have fallen victim to a smishing scam, don’t hesitate to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre
to report it.

I've been receiving phishing attempts and scam text messages from email addresses. As in, instead of a phone number being the source, it's an email address. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy A5 from 2016/17 and there is no option to block the sender -- the option just isn't there, unlike with texts from actual phone numbers.
What can I do to prevent this in the future? If nothing, are there plans from Bell or other telecom companies to deal with this? My only option at this point is to turn off notifications from each individual email address as I receive spam from them. It's tiresome and ridiculous, and these scummy scammers are using this tactic because they KNOW the regular block function doesn't work on emails.

I created a profile in this forum in hopes I could post a screen shot of a ‘smishing’ attempt that looked like it was from Bell. Is that possible? If not pls remove me from the community. Thanks.

Hi,
I have been receiving 2FA (Two factor authorization) codes without me having attempted to sign-in. What should I do?
Normally, with 2FA, the account holder signs-in and is told to check their text messages for an access code which is only sent to the phone number that Bell has on file for that person. I have received two text messages with 2FA codes, but I did NOT attempt to sign-in to my Bell account. This implies that someone else has my user ID and has attempted to use it. But (hopefully) when the 2FA code was sent to me, they didn't receive it and weren't able to access my account.
What should I do (if anything)?

BEWARE. I just got this text sent to me from 45037, and it’s full of errors. It appears to be an obvious scam.
- Wrong account number.
- Wrong contact info for MyBell (they used m.bell.ca).
- Billing amount is almost 3x my normal monthly and I’m up to date on payments.

i just received an email that stated my bell bill owing was $475.60. .I went to my account and it showed zero balance.
Further looking at the email it came from Bell<gtXXX@xplornet.ca> . THIS IS FAKE .
