Security Deposit Return

Since I signed up with bell a few months ago I have gotten great service with no complaints until today when I called to arrange for my security deposit back. The customer service representative was great she took care of all my questions. The sad thing is that she informed me that when I signed up with bell a few months ago I was lied to about my security deposit the girl that signed me up told me I would get it back in 4 months but now I find out it’s 6 months. Now I have to wait another 2 full months before getting my security deposit back. Not good at all.

Hi there, @Sellars. Welcome to the Community.

While we do apologize for any initial misunderstanding, this is correct. Security deposits are returned after six months of full, on-time payments are completed.

Generally speaking, when the conditions justifying the deposit have changed (typically, when you make six monthly bill payments in a row, in full and on time) the security deposit is applied to any outstanding balance owing or refunded to you.

I have included the following web link that provides the specific details:

Security or Safety Deposit

What is a security or safety deposit? (bell.ca)

Take care & thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community Forum.

I was told i would get my deposit back after 6 months…when will I receive it ?

Hi, I bought an iPhone from bell 6 months ago. For that they requested me a security deposit of 400$. So I made that deposit. And they said me it will automatically credited to my account after 6 months. When I visited square one mall bell outlet, one of that guy also said like that. But in my bell app it showing 409$ credit. I want to transfer it to my bank. How can I do it?

Hi Bell Team - while taking the connection for bell internet last year sept i had deposited the refundable security. After 6 months when my security was refunded back I requested it to be refunded by cheque to me. I am following with bell since march and my cheque has not arrived . 3 times three different agents have told me that they are refunding it but I have not received it. Could you please look into the issue and provide me proper details. It is the fourth month i am following for my security deposit.

After 6 months I didnt get back my deposit… The representative told me 6 months…

Any suggestion?

I hope I don’t have that problem but according to all the people I’ve talked with it probably will.

How will the deposit be returned?

Yeah I was also lied to about that. I was told told it would be 3 months and I just found it’s 6.

Hi,

I’m waiting on the security deposit credited to my account as it has been 6 months and the bills have been on auto-payments.

I’m not sure what the issue is here for the holdup. Really appreciate if I could get some assistance here.

Thx.

In some cases, because of credit rating or usage charges, Bell may require a refundable security (or safety) deposit. This may happen at any time during the term of your service agreement. Bell will give you the reason why they are asking for a deposit. When the conditions justifying the security deposit no longer apply (typically when you make six monthly bill payments in a row, in full and on time), Bell will apply the security deposit and any earned interest against any outstanding amount owing, then refund you the balance of the deposit, if any, within 30 days.

I recently got my security deposit back, but it was in credits. Is there anyway I can get this in a cheque sent to me?

I paid $100 for new order I placed , 2 days later I got an email my order was cancelled and it would be refunded. I called to ask why it was cancelled (it was due to stock issue), so I agreed to a different phone and I had to pay the $100 admin. It’s been 4 weeks and never got my first $100 back. Anyone know why?

I will assume that your account number & billing did not change with the change in devices. If it is a mobility account change, equipment return, etc., it could take up to 60-90 days for Bell to process your refund.

If you were overbilled, your account will be credited the $100.00. Have you checked online in MyBell to see if you have a credit for $100.00? Have you received a mobility bill since this change in device? Has this overpayment been applied to this bill?

If after reviewing your account details, & you are still not satisfied, you should call:

Bell Mobility Accounts & billing at: 1 800 667-0123 or *611 from any Bell mobile device

I have been a Bell customer for 6 months and was satisfied with the service before the moment then I asked to give back my deposit . girls and boys on the phone each time tell different information and conditions for returning the deposit. lies and unprofessionalism are the worst advertising for business. I ask you to return my deposit
