I did realize that there is, in fact, a slideshow screensaver that I can diable so the TV shuts down. But when I made that change my control over surround sound is gone. Soooo yeah. I think maybe our tv, although a smart tv, is not new enough for this remote.

Hi.
Had some great advice from this earlier this month so thought I would try again
I now have a Bell Steamer and my remote won't adjust the volume nor turn the TV off /On .
When I set it up this morning all worked perfectly ... then I turned the TV off and now when I turn it on again it won't pair the sound nor the on/off and I have tried numerous times to pair automatically and mechanically but no success... Idea?

Hi there @displeased
Thanks for reaching out to us in the Bell Community.
Do you have any third party equipment plugged in between the Bell Streamer and your TV set? If you do we recommend that the receiver be plugged directly into the TV set.
Do you get a certain error message when you try to pair the remote?
If you still continue to have trouble you can also try out the steps in the article that we posted above.
Keep the Community posted, and let us know if you need anything else.

Thanks for getting back to me on my Bell Streamer remote problem
I do not have any device attached between the Bell Streamer and the TV and I have tried factory reset at least 5 times and have followed the instructions on the my LG smart TV carefully.
The help site that was pointed out to me only deals with the regular Bell Fibe remotes and there seems to be no useful help information on the Streamer remote.
If something comes to mind please let me know. I am stumped and displeased
I remain Displeased

Good day @displeased
Thank you for your reply 🙂
Can you clarify what does happen when you try to pair the Streamer remote to your LG TV after following the steps in this article
(e.g. do you see an error message)?

I don't ever see and error message .. all I get is "pairing is unsuccessful "
This message comes up after following the on screen steps for doing it automatically or manually by selecting my TV from the list
The remote works perfectly for everything except the sound/volume and the on/off..
When I first installed the Bell Streamer the pairing for the sound worked perfectly and so did the on/off and then I turned the TV off and left it for a few hours and when I went to turn it on again it would not turn on and I had to use LG remote to turn it on and needed to use it to adjust the volume.
I am using the streamer because my brand new Bell 4k box will not work and the installer said my Gigahub was too far away from the TV but being in a condo I cannot change locations of either the Hub nor the TV and the Bell Streamer was suggested as an option as the wi-fi works perfectly in my place.
What is odd to me is that the Bell remote that came with the 4k receiver also controls the volume and the on/off . I thought perhaps it had captured the signal so I took the batteries out of it and tried to pair the Streamer remote but still nothing happened for the sound or the on/off
Thanks for trying .. this is so frustrating
