When I turn on the tv box, then select a channel via the guide, a few minutes later it shuts off. There is no signal to the tv. I have to turn the bell tv box off then on again to get it working. This repeats a few times before it settles down. Why?

Hi there @Scotty495
Welcome to the Bell Community.
We would like to get a bit more information so the Community can help.
- What type of TV receiver/remote are you using?
- Is the receiver warm to the touch, or located in an enclosed area?
- Do you see any lights on the receiver when that happens, or does the receiver power down completely?
- How is the equipment set up, for example is it plugged directly into your TV via HDMI, or is there any third party equipment in between?
- Is the equipment plugged into a power outlet, or into an extension cord/serge protector?
There are a few things you can check right of the bat. Make sure that the receiver is not overheating, and place it in a well ventilated area. Check for any dust build up too.
You can also test a different power outlet, and check to ensure there is no damage to any of your cords.
Let the Community know how everything is going.

Hey @Scotty495
Thank you for your reply.
Can you clarify which Bell receiver you are using?
Have you tested the receiver on a different TV to see if the same problem occurs, and are you using the Bell supplied HDMI cord?
As suggested above, place your receiver it in a well ventilated area, check for any dust build up and test a different power outlet. Also please try another HDMI port / cord to see if that may be the culprit.

You mentioned a number troubleshooting steps that you have taken thus far & all of them lead me to believe the issue might well be with a TV setting.
- Have you tried the receiver on a different TV?
- Verified the cables & connections?
- Are there any issues when connected to a different TV?
- Does your LG 55" QNED85UQA have a picture initially when you turn it on?
- Are you restarting the receiver to view a picture when you view or change inputs or Smart TV apps?
Have you checked out your LG TV manual? Please have a look at the following settings for your TV:
- LG TV start screen options? Power on settings? Quick start settings?
- Check your autorun options for last device / app
- Autorun last app / device?
- Power & energy savings
LG 55QNED85UQA.ACC Product Support: Manuals Warranty & More | LG CA
Note: Whenever you start your LG Smart TV, this will turn on to the source you had it on before turning off. This can vary if you are accessing more than one source & the last source was not your Fibe TV receiver.
Also check out your:
- Power and Energy Savings setting > Verify your Auto Power Savings & Power Off

Take care.

What type of TV receiver/remote are you using? LG 55QNED85UQA. I have removed the TV from the Bell remote. The Bell box has to be turned off and back on to restore its signal to the TV. When the TV was βonβ the Bell box remote, this caused them to get out of sync. Very frustrating.
Is the receiver warm to the touch, or located in an enclosed area? Not warm.
Do you see any lights on the receiver when that happens, or does the receiver power down completely? Remains green. It does not appear to power down. It just stops transmitting its HDMI signal.
How is the equipment set up, for example is it plugged directly into your TV via HDMI, or is there any third party equipment in between? Directly to the TV.
Is the equipment plugged into a power outlet, or into an extension cord/serge protector? Directly into a wall socket.
