We just switched to Bell Fibe. On Rogers my wife and I have always each had a remote control but Bell Fibe doesn't seem to like us having a second remote. The first remote, the one that came with the install, worked fine. Then the Fibe TV box (a VIP7802) crashed several times, so Bell replaced it. When I tried to use the remote that came with the second 7802, the first remote stopped working properly. Bell just replaced that remote but now this new one doesn't work properly.
Is there a problem using two Bell voice remotes with one VIP7802?

Hi there @CanStretch, welcome to the Bell Community.
Unfortunately, you cannot use two Voice remotes on the same Fibe TV Box (7802).
Have a nice day,

Good day @CanStretch.
Currently the option to use two different Bell remotes on the same TV receiver is not supported.

Is there a different Fibe TV box available that does support two remotes? We've never used a voice remote before so that's not a big feature for us - non-voice remotes would be fine.

Hi all. I recently switched over to Bell and was wondering if I can use my LG Magic remote instead of the remote that comes with the STB with Bell Fibe (The STB seems to be called Arris VIP7802)
Thanks in advance.

Hi there @Alph
Thank you for your post.
Only the Voice Remote that comes with the VIP7802 will work for it.

Could you use a Harmony Remote in addition to the Bell remote?

- It is very common to need more than one remote to operate one receiver. Bell needs to come up with a fix for this PRONTO!

I have multiple but the voice control will become messy. I saw someone on the forum mentioned it’s for security reasons.

I currently have three voice remotes connected and fully functioning with my 7802 box.
My wife was up before me and the remote wasn't working so she pulled one of two extra ones we have from the replace your remote fortunately under warranty before we all learned that support didn't know about factory reset option with multifunction option.
They still don't, and support tests from auto guided on line tools still lead to replace remote never stating the factory reset from multifunction button.
They were both running tv when we want volume control of the box the run our paired Samsung Bluetooth soundbar and subwoofer.
Well I did the remote reset on each one one at a time. Then put a piece of tape and named them 1, 2, 3
Using the remotes and accessories operations under device settings from home settings option.
Just searched for each remote one at a time after resetting each one to tv box control paired by searching and pushing a key on remote. Renamed them. Now have one at couch in my sitting chair and at dining table as we have open concept.
Go figure. This ability wasn't there before the version update. I still refuse to call it an upgrade, just a complete software rebuild with next gen UI model lite.
All sorts of strange things with this box pre and post, but at least the remote reset option is more reliable. Maybe other universal remotes could work now. Can't say since I don't have one, but maybe.
Just an interesting tidbit. Nothing surprises me anymore with this box. Like I said remote control went weird and low and behold I now have three fully functional voice remotes.
