Hi there @Jlavallee

Welcome to the Bell Community 🙂

Does that happen on multiple receivers in your home at the same time? Are you using the HDMI cable provided by Bell or one of your own?

We recommend trying a different HDMI port on your TV set and test to see if you notice a red screen pop up.

Let us know how everything is going.

When I called Bell and told them about it and ask if this was happening to other customers , they said not that they knew.  I wish they could have a permanent fix.

Thus proving that 7 pages of problems reported here never make it to anyone that matters.

Just my opinion, but I suspect the issue is an HDMI-HDCP ( copyright protection )  handshake that fails. The box will not communicate with any display device that does not present its HDCP credentials.  But most TVs now are compliant, so It may be because of a tight timing issue bug, that it doesn't happen all the time, or on all the TVs.

It should not be a difficult problem to fix, and it hasn't happen to me since the much maligned VIP7802 "upgrade".

If it is not a difficult problem to fix, can they not install a patch to address this issue.

As well, I am unable to get certain channels since this upgrade--even though they are chosen in the settings.  When I called in, they said that the upgrade was working out the kinks and that alot of people have been experiencing the same issue...it's really something else, so many problems and no solution but certainly payment is required every month

I read through the various replies. Interesting but not helpful. I rebooted the modem. Nothing. I unplugged the remote ethernet box that Bell supplied me with and plugged it back in. Nothing. But i noticed that the small square Bell Fibe box that connects directly to the TV was now showing a red light. It was green previously. So i unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in. Then i got a signal on the TV and the message stated that the connection to the router had been lost and that i should reboot the router. So i did. That worked! Go figure.
