Where to watch The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

I would like to use my Bell Fibe TV subscription to watch the new "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" - airing tonight.  It used to be on the CTV Comedy station, but the internet says "Bell Media" has dropped the show.  How can I watch it?  Would Bell Media please consider carrying the show (like it used to)?

Unfortunately, you won’t be seeing The Daily Show again on CTV, or CTV Comedy, any time soon. Bell Media has dropped the show.

If you wish to watch it in Canada, you will need to subscribe to Paramount+. The show is scheduled to be available on Paramount+ the day after it airs on Comedy Central.

The Daily Show will be returning to Comedy Central on Feb. 12, 2024. Comedy Central has the exclusive rights to The Daily Show. Jon Stewart will be just one of many hosts on the program.

Take care.

I think we're out of luck. Paramount + supposedly is going to live stream. I'm about to login.

Edit: I don't see it on the Paramount+ live schedule.

I decided to add the US Network Add-on for $3 to my channel lineup. (CBS News is included)

2nd edit: Nope, not there either. 😢  All I see is Comedy Central, and next day on Paramount +.  I've installed the CBS News app to try to see if it will air.

If you figure out how to see it live, please update.

So the real question is what are we paying for?

Xpressvu gives me an enormous number of channels with next to nothing I want to watch.  The Daily Show is yet another example.  Another is the fact that I subscribe to BBC Canada and they don't 'carry' Later With Jools Holland... a phenomenal BBC music show that I cannot get. I also love the fact that I can't watch Ottawa Senators hockey games in Toronto unless I buy the Center Ice package despite the fact that I PAY for the sports channels that the games are broadcast on.

So . am I paying for Bell?

Seems like the simple answer is ... Whatever BELL decides I should watch 😕

I understand your frustration. With all respect, Bell has no input into what programming a specific channel runs. BBC controls all the programming for their channels. Bell simply has a carriage agreement, which they pay for and in turn charge subscribers for.

In regard to sports channels, games shown in specific markets are governed not by Bell but by the agreements with the NHL. The reason games are blacked out has to do with NHL requirements for market control. Originally it was to protect the sale of game tickets. Today it may have more relevance to driving fans to higher price tiers such as Centre Ice.

Broadcast rights are a complex issue with lots of arguments for and against. But the place to express your concern is with the NHL itself and the team owners.

BBC Canada disappeared in the first year of the pandemic. You need to Google where the shows and games are before subscribing.

I have noticed that some American networks I watch on Bell Satellite (you can see the US show commercials on some US networks) now say "Watch live on 123 network and the stream the next day on 123 Streaming". The model appears to be changing on some US networks with their premium content shown on their cable and satellite channels first and streaming later.

Just here to place a thread asking Bell to offer Comedy Central again on it's channel line up or show This Daily Show again on CTV Comedy Channel.  Jon Stewart has returned to the show on Mondays.  I would love to watch it without having to jump through hoops.   Leave a like if you want The Daily Show available again on Bell's TV Channel line up.

Thank you for your question. The CTV Comedy Channel is available across the Fibe TV platform in all packages. Specific shows are not, however, up to Bell Canada to broadcast.

CTV Comedy Channel is a part of Bell Media, a different division of Bell Canada. In addition, licensing agreements with content providers place limits what programs Bell Media may make available and on what platforms. Those agreements also control how long a program may be available for streaming. I suggest you contact CTV Comedy Channel directly with your request.

Unfortunately, you won’t be seeing The Daily Show with Jon Stewart again on CTV, or CTV Comedy, any time soon. Bell Media no longer has a licensing agreement with Parmount Global the owner of Paramount +, Comedy Central & CBS. Comedy Central  produces the The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

If you wish to watch it in Canada, you will need to subscribe to Paramount +.

Take care.
