Bell's web site touts the availability of backup power battery backup. and states that they have the batteries for sale. However I have been unable to find anyone at Bell that will confirm this. Also, I found the following on the internet :Bell no longer offers the Home Hub 3000 backup battery for purchase. Apparently they discontinued them in Many 2021. Is Bell deliberately providing misleading and false info on its web site? Does anyone know if a backup battery is still available anywhere

I can not understand a company that cares so little for its customers. They took my old no-modem phone service away and replaced it with one that requires more electricity plus three extra spaces on my power bar, and leaves me with no emergency connection at all unless I can somehow figure out which battery needs to be installed at my own expense, and how to install it. The only advice they give is, "buy some sort of battery and ask the manufacturer how to use it." I think that after over sixty years with Bell, I have to leave.

I'm surprised to read that you didn't get specific advice on this from Bell. Did you speak to someone?
Last year I posted here on what's needed as a replacement to the failing battery.
Here's the post. It's taken from the Bell Support site:
As of May 16, 2021, Bell no longer offers the Home Hub 3000 backup battery for purchase.
To maintain phone service during a power outage, you need an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) to power your Home Hub 3000. You can purchase one from various retailers who sell electronics and related devices.
FAQs
What is an uninterrupted power supply (UPS)?
A UPS, also known as a battery backup, provides electricity when your regular power source fails. When the electricity goes out, devices plugged into the UPS (modem, computers, TV, etc.) will be powered by its battery.
What kind of UPS do I need to power my modem?
To power your modem, a UPS should meet these requirements:
- Rated for a capacity of at least 300 volt-amperes (VA)
- Must support three-prong power plugs (National Electrical Manufacturers Association NEMA 5-15P)
Also, opt for a UPS that meets your capacity and runtime needs. A variety of UPS units are available and a sales representative can help make a recommendation.
How long will a UPS power my service?
The length of time (also referred to as runtime) depends on various factors such as:
- How many devices you have connected to the UPS.
- The type of devices you are powering during a power outage.
- The make and model of your UPS. See its manufacturer for details
How can I optimize the length of time my Internet service will be operational during an outage?
We recommend connecting only your Bell modem to the UPS. Contact the manufacturer for other ways to optimize your UPS.

Just wondering if the only few people on the Bell network who have an issue with battery replacement ever figured out whether the battery they did have was working okay before replacing it? As I mentioned in my post, the modem says replace but when I accessed the modem software it said the battery was fine showing 99% power. Who/what to believe??? Thanks

Hi there, @edee_em. Thanks for your follow-up.
We would suggest testing the battery to see if it's working. If you have the back-up battery inserted into the back of the modem, you should be able to unplug the modem from the wall outlet and the battery will keep the modem running and the internet working. If it doesn't stay powered on, then the battery is no good.

I did as instructed (unplugged modem) and everything is fine. Battery at 94% (according to modem) after running an update of an app I use (to test connection). Phone connection also stayed on and worked. So, why does Bell continue to push that replace battery message? I get that Bell is not providing batteries any longer so why can't we cross that bridge when we get there? Anyway, thanks for your help.

Looking to replace my dead battery back up for my hun 3000, I was told that this kind of battery has been disrupted by Bell since 2021.
now, where could we find something else to get a back up?

Home Hub 3000 backup battery were included with the Home Hub 3000 modem. They were warrantied for 1yr.
As of May 16, 2021, Bell stopped offering the Home Hub 3000 backup battery for purchase from Bell.
All batteries purchased after April 23, 2017 came with a one-year limited warranty.
To maintain phone service during a power outage, you can still purchase a battery backup from various retailers who sell electronics and related devices, such as Staples, Amazon or Best Buy.

Well I AM in Quebec and it was not included and I remember reading that battery are not included and csn be bought separately

The Home Hub 3000 backup battery was included with the Home Hub 3000 modem on the initial install. They were warrantied for 1 yr. If you needed to replace the battery after the 1 yr. warranty expired you could so by purchasing a replacement battery from Bell.
All backup batteries purchased after April 23, 2017 came with a one-year limited warranty.
As of May 16, 2021, Bell stopped offering the Home Hub 3000 backup battery for after warranty purchase from Bell.

With everything being said, especially over the past few days, it seems to me we have two choices.
First, go out and buy an uninterrupted power supply or a battery that fits as many have listed here and plug your modem into that. I never got the backup battery with my modem and Bell charged me $100 for a battery, when they were supplying them. Now that Bell is not supplying that battery, the onus is on us.
Second, realize that Bell is not interested in the safety of your home during a power outage and you should cancel your landline service with Bell immediately. That may not be fair to Bell as no other electronics manufacturers send UPS along with their products but if you have lost faith in their product to provide you with safe and reliable service, the choice is clear, if you have options for phone service. My phone not working is a lot more significant than if my toaster doesn't work.
Perhaps a bigger issue that should be addressed is why Bell was allowed to move phone service from a stand alone jack to needing the modem which then requires battery backup. The advantage of the landline always was that it worked during power failures. Is that now not the case for us who have their modem? That may complicate our discussion or it might be nonsense. Regardless, worth taking a look???
