closing my Bell internet, transfer sympatico emails to gmail account

How can I transfer my Bell email over to another provider.They asked me when I cancelled my services if I wanted to keep my email which i responded yes but cancelled it so now I have lost all my contacts.Does anyone know how I can get them back?
