Does Fibe require Cloud PVR?

The PVR service doesn't work well so I'd like to cancel it and save $10/month. Bell says that cloud PVR is a requirement for FibeTB (receiver, not app). Is that true?

Thanks. I'm not talking about the box itself, though, but the $10/month CloudPVR service. Can that be cancelled?

The Fibe VIP7xxx boxes. He little ones that run off ethernet or wifi, not coax.
