Thanks @MkR for your reply, so we're not alone.... It's hard to believe there is no fix.

That is exactly what I am getting!  "An unexpected error has occurred " when ever I try to send an email.  Usually it does send but it does not show up in my sent box.  Did you ever find a fix for this?  Thanks
