Freezing During Movies on channels 3501 and 3502 - why does this happen?

On channels 3501 and 3502, the movies seem to freeze every 5/7 minutes. Then the usual VVS advertisement comes in (very loud) for 1+ minutes. This happens all the time, day or night ! Very irritating when trying to watch a movie !Why does this happen ? And how can it be corrected ?

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for posting your question.

Program gaps on channels 3501 and 3502 (bonus channels) happen because these are looping virtual/on-demand feeds rather than traditional live broadcasts. Their on-screen guides often mismatch actual playback loops, creating visual timing gaps.

Commercials often sound louder than regular TV shows because of audio compression, which boosts the average volume level and removes the quiet gaps that exist in normal programs.

Can you tell us more in terms of the device you are using to stream these channels on the Fibe TV app?

  • If you are using a Smart TV such as a Samsung, Sony, LG, Hisense, etc., you should refer to your user manual. Go to your settings menu, sound and turn on Auto Volume or Advanced Volume / Control.
  • To stop loud commercials on a streaming device, e.g. Amazon Fire Stick, etc.you will need to enable the Volume Leveler feature or turn on Dialogue Enhancer or change your audio setting to Best Available to PCM or Stereo.

These setting compress the dynamic range, bringing loud ads down to the same level as the movie or show you are watching.

Keep in mind that the audio settings that I previously mentioned for all Smart TVs and Streaming devices are similar but do not necessarily have the same name & effect but are generally found in your Settings > Audio configurations. Please refer to operation manuals.

FYI only.

  • Fresh Movies on Bell Fibe channel 3501 is produced and distributed by the Canadian independent motion picture distribution company VVS Films.
  • MovieSphere is a free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) movie channel on Bell Fibe channel 3502 that is produced and operated by Lionsgate.

Take care.
