There was a Sony firmware update for the bravia 8, however it did not solve the issue 

I also have 2 other Bravia TV’s (2021 models) and the bell app is working fine on those. It seems specific to the Bravia 8 

I refuse to use the TSN app. The quality of the stream is absolute garbage. I might as well put mud on my eyes and bust out my old tube TVspecifically using the bell app to watch this in 4K HDR. Almost 2 weeks no resolution to this issue. Literally.
