Good day,
I was recently looking to upgrade my device by paying out the balance of my device and financing agreement, however online said I had to go into the store to complete. I visited my local store and the sales rep stated my account was 'ineligible for an upgrade' I've only had this plan for less than 2 years, and have always ensured my bill is paid each month. Even the call center agent said the same thing, with no additional information. My current phone is beginning to act up, and I don't have the funds to go out and buy out a new phone. Any suggestions would be helpful, and seeing if anyone else has had this issue in the past as I was with Bell previously, and never had issues upgrading then.

Good Day & Welcome.
Thank you for posting your question.
Can you please provide us with some further details?
- Are you on a Bell SmartPay Plan?
- Did you choose the Device Return Option at the time you purchased your device?
If you wish to get a new phone on a 2-year term with Bell SmartPay, you could be eligible to upgrade early just by paying off your remaining device balance.
You cannot upgrade your phone on a Bell SmartPay plan if you still have an active 24-month financing balance or deferred amount that has not been paid off yet.
You mentioned in your post that there were operational issues with your device. You cannot return a phone under the Device Return Option (DRO) if it has physical or functional problems
Device Return Option: when your agreement ends
Please tell us more and we will do our best to answer your question.
Take care.

Good Day.
Thank you for your expedient reply.
Are you looking to upgrade or trade in your phone at Bell?
If you are not on a Bell SmartPay DRO plan, can you please explain to us the reasoning provided to you by the Bell Phone store & call centre for disallowing your upgrade request?
Are you the account holder? Are you on a qualifying rate plan? You also mentioned that your phone is not in working order.
If you cannot answer “Yes” to all of the above, then you unfortunately may not qualify,
We need to know more before we can answer your question.
Please check out the following:
For further clarification, you will need to contact Bell Mobility Customer Service at: 1-800-667-0123 or dial
*611 from any Bell mobile device.
Take care.

In regards of reason, there was no additional information that they could see on my account in regards of a reasoning, I am the primary account holder, I'm not on a Device Return Option SmartPay account, and a qualifying rate plan (2YR Ultimate 125GB), there are a couple bugs with it. but overall it's in decent condition.

I wish I could do more, but I cannot.

Hey there @rvanspronsen26 ,
Welcome to the community and thanks for your post.
I wanted to jump in and add some possible causes that may be blocking you from being able to upgrade to a new phone.
- Past-Due Bills: If you have an overdue balance, the system locks your profile.
- Credit Limits: If you have an internal credit limit. If your account has hit its maximum credit capacity, you cannot finance an additional device until your total limit decreases or you make a security deposit.
- Collection Status: If your account has been flagged for non-payment or sent to internal collections, all hardware modifications are frozen.
These are some of the main reasons that would block an access and can be reviewed directly in MyBell.
Check that out and let the community know if you still need help after.
