Trouble setting up pre authorized bill payment

I’m trying to set up pre authorized bill payments. I enter name ,bank, routing and account number but when I submit it comes back with there’s a technical issue. It doesn’t provide any alternative recourse or solution. I’ve tried on various days with the same results. I checked with my back and they say there isn’t any problems on their end with my account. I’m trying to avoid spend in time on the phone with Bell getting bounced around to different depts and AI, only to be connected with someone off shore who I’ll struggle to understand. I’ll probably have to eventually. Sigh!!!

Good Day & Welcome

You mentioned that you contacted your financial institution & they indicated that there was no problem. Can you reconfirm what their name would be listed as?

You should be able to sign up in a few simple steps. All you will need is your banking information, a MyBell profile, and a recent bill.

  1. Upon logging in to MyBell and accessing your current bill page, Select > Pay now or Payment options.
  2. Select > Manage pre-authorized payments.
  3. Follow the onscreen prompts to choose your method of payment.
  4. Select Pay through my bank for your payment method.
  5. Select Sign in with Interac® verification service to securely sign in to your financial institution and fill in your bank account details automatically.
  6. Alternatively, enter your bank account details manually (account holder name, transit number, bank name and account number). If you require assistance locating your bank account details, please refer to the Where to find this information sidebar for guidance.
  7. Select Continue to review.
  8. Review the pre-authorized payment information and select Submit.

Setting up pre-authorized payments with Bell takes one to two bill cycles to fully register in the system. You can sign up in minutes online, but it's important to make a one-time payment to cover your current outstanding balance, as the pre-authorized setup won't apply to the bill that's already generated.

If you overpay, your account will be credited & any overpayment will be applied to your next monthly bill. Do not adjust your pre-authorized payment.

Please note: if you already have pre-authorized payments set up, you can manage your pre-authorized payments through the payment lightbox. For example, you can change your bank information or cancel pre-authorized payments.

Let us know if you continue to experience problems.

Take care.
