Senior friendly TV remote

When is BELL going to recognize the need for a senior friendly remote? The current model has both very small characters and buttons. It is very difficult to see numbers and manage buttons with arthritic fingers. Given the largest growing demographic is the senior population, providing a larger remote should definitely be a priority!

Good Day @Tvizz

As previously discussed, I have researched the technical specs for the Flipper Big Button Remote. It supposedly will work both your TV and cable, satellite, or over the air DTV box with only one device!

The Flipper Big Button Remote for seniors is strictly an infrared (IR) device and does not support Bluetooth.

According to their support site it is compatible with:

Common STB / Cable Box Codes – Flipper Remote

 Flipper Support Remote

It's supposedly compatible with all major TV brands including Sony, Samsung, LG, and Hisense. There are limitation: it does not work with streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, or YouTube since it doesn't have navigation buttons.

It's designed specifically for traditional TV functions - power, channel, and volume control.

I will leave this with you.

Let us know if this will meet his needs & work for you.

Take care.

This does not assist elderly folks who struggle with speech clarity, nor shaky hands.

Way back Bell had an option to just show subscribed channels. It seems that option is gone and now thr only alternative is to manually add each channel to favourites.

Thank you @SD24  posting your comment.

I do not work for Bell.

I am just one member, as you are, trying to help another member out.

My previous replay, is the best solution that I could come up with to assist in solving this members issue.

Take care.

Good Day & Welcome

Thank you for posting your question.

The option to view all channels is still there. You can also choose to manually pick and choose which channels you wish to include or exclude. If you are looking to create a Favorites list, then yes, you will need to select each channel you wish to add to your Favorites.

As is the case with clothing, shoes, etc. there is no one size & or selection that will fit all. Your choice of Favorite channels may be the same as mine, slightly different or not the same at all.

We would like to assist you further, but in order to do so, you need to tell us more in order to help you more.

Which Bell TV service do you subscribe to? Fibe TV, Fibe TV App or Satellite TV

Tell us more about the device you are using. Are you using a Bell receiver, streaming device, Smart TV, computer, tablet, mobile phone, etc.

You can set up Bell TV to show only the channels that you subscribe to. You can also set up a Favorites list on Fibe TV to only show the channels that you wish to view most of the time.

How to create a favourites list on Bell Fibe TV

Fibe TV app on a TV

Setting up subscribed channels and a Favorites list on Bell TV should not be onerous task.

If you have any further questions, please let the Community know.

Take care.
