Good Day.

Your Voice remote will only control the volume up or down for whichever audio source you choose to set up. Internal or External sound, within your TV System settings menu. It will control your channel selection & TV power on / off. (It could also control your sound system power if your TV has an external auto power switching feature.)

In order to control the volume of your sound system, it must be connected as the output audio source for your TV.

Your Voice remote will control only your TV volume & it's audio output. In your case it will adjust the volume up and down. It will not adjust any other sound system settings.

I have a Samsung Smart TV that is connected to a Sonos sound system. The audio quality is amazing. It automatically recognizes each piece of equipment.

I would start by familiarizing yourself with your TV & sound system audio setup settings. You will probably need to use two remotes or an app if you wish to make further adjustments beyond volume levels.

Thank you for posting your question.

Take care.

Good Day & Welcome.

Unfortunately, it is not possible for you to control the volume and mute buttons on your Bose soundbar using a Bell   Slim remote control. The Bell Slim remote for Fibe TV uses infrared (IR) technology to communicate. It cannot be paired to control your soundbar.

On compatible TVs', you can program your Bell Slim remote to control your TV only. It will control the volume & mute that is output from the TV only. (Please reference your TV manufacturers manual for further instructions.)

There are only two options available for you that I am aware of to connect your TV to your Bose Solo Soundbar 2.

  • Optical cable from TV to soundbar or an alternate method by way of auxiliary port on your soundbar.

Thank you. I hadn’t considered doing it that way; it just might work. I also have a Samsung TV, it’s a smart TV, but it’s probably about 15 years old. I’ll see if it has the appropriate settings for this work around.

Thanks again

Unfortunately it didn’t work. It looks like it will only work with HDMI ARC connection from TV to sound system. My sound system is too old; uses digital optical connection to TV.

I invested in the Bose Solo Soundbar Series 2 at Costco. I use the Bell Fibe Slim 2761A remote. I want to program my remote volume and mute buttons to control my Bose soundbar. I know I can’t do this from the soundbar but it’s been suggested that I can train the remote to do this. On this remote I’ve been told to push the Options button, the green TV light on the top will flash 3x and then enter the code….to no avail. Has anyone been successful “marrying” these two specific products?

Yes…the 2761A is infrared….so is the Bose solo soundbar 2….i have the soundbar connected via optical cable…bell canada says it can be done, i just cant find the right code……

why specifically @WelshTerrier do u say it can’t be done?

Oh, and the tv speaker is turned off…

Good Day.

Thank you for your feedback & gracious reply.

I can only give you my advice based on my knowledge level & experience. I cannot offer up to you a solution based on what someone else says can be done.

I purchased a Solo Soundbar 2 from Costco. The salesman & Costco customer service / support led me to believe the same that the Bose soundbar was compatible.

I spent endless hours trying to try do what you are trying to do. I wasted a lot of time & energy not only with Bose, but also with Samsung. My equipment was as follows:

  • Samsung 50 Neo QLED 4K TV QN90B Smart TV
  • Fibe TV VIP2502 receiver which uses the Bell Slim 2761A remote control.
  • Bose Solo Soundbar Series 2

For best quality, you need to use the optical cable. Bose Solo Soundbar Series II does not feature HDMI eARC.

You can use the soundbar. It will work & provide you with excellent quality audio. Unfortunately, it is not possible for you to control the volume and mute buttons on your Bose soundbar using a Bell Slim remote control.

Bose referred me to their user manual. If you don’t get sound from any source that’s connected to your TV, such as a DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, cable/satellite box, game system, or DVR. Connect the source directly to the soundbar & use only one audio cable for each source.

I returned the Bose Solo Soundbar Series 2 to Costco for a refund.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Take care.
