I think it's unacceptable that Sportsnet+ is blocking out certain NHL games every night for Bell customers.
You pay $250+ for the Center Ice package to see your team, and the night you want to watch it, it's only on Sportsnet+. Then they want you to pay another $12.99 a month, for the add on.
If you're a Rogers customer, apparently the Sportsnet+ game is included with your subscription.
This NHL Center Ice package is getting to be a freaking scam.
You have games going exclusively to Prime, Disney, Apple, Hulu. You can't buy it all.
NHL Center Ice should have specific team packages. I only want to watch my team, which may be US based.
Smarten up Bell, Center Ice & Rogers. Stop trying to squeeze every cent out of your customers. Make no wonder people go to pirated apps to stream shows.

The reason is, to use one word, money. Broadcasting contracts are negotiated between the leagues, team owners and providers. It is more lucrative to negotiate a spread of providers, which customers pay for, than to have one provider to follow one team. providers have to recoup their investment by selling subscriptions as opposed to providing free (aside from subscription service fees) content. This is, unfortunately, the way of the future for professional sports broadcasting. The subscription model is a continuous stream of money as over the air broadcasting continues to decline. Foster Hewitt and Danny Gallivan would be shaking their heads.
