Find and change your Wi-Fi password
These days we take the concept of our Wi-Fi password for granted. Whether it was set for us when installed or we set it ourselves long ago, there always comes a time when we need to add another device, allow friends and family access or simply decide it’s time for a change. Remembering that password can be tricky, let alone changing it. Let’s take a look at how we can do each one for the Home Hub 3000, Home Hub 4000 and Giga Hub modems.
Find your Wi-Fi password from your modem
If you have never changed your Wi-Fi password, check the back of your modem for a sticker detailing the default Wi-Fi network name and password.
Home Hub 3000:
- Press the key button on the front of the modem.
- Your Wi-Fi password will then scroll across the screen for a few seconds.
Home Hub 4000/Giga Hub:
- On the front of your modem, press the down arrow key until you reach the Wi-Fi password menu and press OK.
- Your Wi-Fi password will then scroll across the screen for a few seconds.
Find or change your Wi-Fi name and password through the Bell Wi-Fi app
First, you’ll need to download and open the Bell Wi-Fi app.
Finding your Wi-Fi password
- Open the Bell Wi-Fi app and log in with your MyBell username and password
- On the top of the Adapt screen, touch the hidden Wi-Fi password. The existing password is shown.
Changing your Wi-Fi name and/or password
- Open the Bell Wi-Fi app and log in with your MyBell username and password
- On the Adapt section of the home screen, touch the Settings (gear) icon.
- To rename your network, touch the Pencil icon, enter a name and then touch Done.
- To change your Wi-Fi password, touch the three stacked dots beside your hidden Wi-Fi password.
- Touch Edit to change the password.
- Touch Done and then Update once you have confirmed the new Wi-Fi password.
- Try to connect to your Wi-Fi network using this password.
Find or change your Wi-Fi password through your web browser
First, you’ll need to log into your modem’s interface or GUI.
- Open a new browser tab.
- Depending on your connected status, enter the below:
- Bell.ca/mymodem if connected to the internet already.
- 192.168.2.1 if not connected to the internet.
- Click Manage my Wi-Fi.
- If prompted, enter the administrator password. Unless you have already changed it, the default password is the serial number located on the sticker found on the back of your modem.
- Ensure your Primary Wi-Fi network is set to ON.
- You can now view or change the network name and password.
- Click Save to apply any changes you have made.
