I have encountered another problem I have been unable to solve on the new Home Hub 4000. I moved over my movie USB drive from my old router to the usb port on the new one. It was formatted as xFAT. I was able to see the drive on my LG smart TV and with the exception of the French folder names I was able to watch movies without any problems.
However I cannot see the drive share under network with my Windows 11 PC’s as I used to with my old netgear router. I now cannot copy or delete movies to the drive attached the HH4000 which I used to do quite often as I had it mapped as a network drive.I tried the few suggested solutions I could find without any success including using a FAT32 drive. I also enabled all SMB features just in case. No change.
On that subject does the HH4000 support SMB2 as I now understand SMB 1.0 has serious security issues.

Home Hub 4000 USB Shares Workaround
As far as I have experienced Bells new Home Hub 4000 has several issues with the use of the USB port. It seems to be setup only as a Media Server (DLNA) so the files ( movies ) seem to be only accessible on media devices such as a Smart LG Television for playback etc. Also the file folders names seen are in French. The files cannot be accessed with Windows Explorer as far as I can tell.
Most Routers that I have used have a USB port that can be used as both a Media Server and Shares. In fact most have pre-set media shares such as Movies ,Music etc. already setup. They are also visible as shares under Windows or Apple OSX so they can be accessed.
To get around the access problem I reconfigured my previous TP Link router as an Access Point (AP) as per the following example :
https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1199/
Once the changes were made and I connected it to the Home Hub the TP Link router shows up fine under windows and you can read and write to the USB drive. This particular router has the media functions already enabled. With some routers I believe there is the option available to disable it.
This process is a bit tedious. Bell really needs to get the USB port to work as other routers due as both a media (DLNA) device and a file sharing backup device or at least have the option to perform both functions.

How did you even add the bell home hub into the my computer on your computer? I’ve been trying to figure out how to do that and I can’t figure it out.

I have the same problem. Refer to my post "Cannot see or copy or delete movies from Hub 4000 attached USB drive from a Windows 11 PC "
This title is misleading . I had no problems using a USB drive with my old Netgear Hub and using Windows but
cannot "see" it with the new Home Hub 4000

Like you I could not add the Bell Home Hub 4000. I could see it listed as a gateway but anything such as a Flash drive or external drive connected to the USB port on the Home Hub would not show up either as a Windows Shareunder MyComputer or under Windows Explorer Network. I therefore can no longer use this drive for backups etc as I am used to doing on my Netgear Router. Kind of useless as now to add or delete files to it I have to remove it and plug it into my Windows PC first then back to the Home Hub 4000.
It does oddly enough show up on my Smart TV so I still can use it for viewing movies or pictures.

OOps! If not clear the USB drive is now attached to the TP Link router again.
