Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community.
Please provide us with a bit more information & detail? Is this a new Home phone service? Are you on copper or are you on fibre?
Based on the limited information you have provided in your post, if you are on copper, & if you have checked all of your connections, cords, jacks & phones, then you should contact Bell Repair Service. Their number is: 611 from any landline telephone.
If you are on fibre:
- Have you checked for dial tone by plugging a telephone in to the green Tel 1 jack on the back of your modem?
- Have you tried to plug in a different telephone? This will confirm whether you have a phone or a modem issue.
- Is your modem powered on and working?
- Any error messages on your modem?
- Have you tried to reboot your modem?
- Do you have other Bell services? E.g. Internet, Fibe TV, etc. If so, are they working?
- Have you tried to run the Bell Virtual Repair tool? Run Virtual Repair
- Have you tried to do any troubleshooting?
- Have you contacted Bell Home phone tech support?

Hey @Ladyb,
Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.
The Community needs some more information in order to assist.
- Do you have Fibe Home Phone service, or are you using copper home phone?
- Do you hear any noise on the line at all (such as static or a buzz)?
- What type of phone set do you have, and have you tested a different phone?
- Is it a newly installed service, or has the home phone been working well up until now?
- If you are using Fibe Home Phone, is there an error message showing on the modem when you plug the home phone in?
We hope to hear from you soon.

Phone was working fine this morning. As of this evening the landline is static with no dial tone. Followed the unplug jack instructions. Still not working. Used the online tool to see what was going on. Couldn't get a fix. Is anyone else having issues in the North York/Don Mills area of Toronto with their landlines?

Good Day & Welcome.
Do you have more than one Bell service? E.g. Internet, TV, Home phone. If so, are all of your services not working?
You can check for an Internet outage in your area using Bell's Outage check tool: Check for service outages
If your Bell services are powered by fibre technology, try these additional steps:
- Ensure the modem has power.
- Check Internet modem for any messages or lights (red, yellow) indicating there is a problem with your Internet connection.
- If that's the case, troubleshoot Internet. E.g. Virtual repair tool, etc.
If you hear noises such as static, clicking or radio interference on your phone line, try the following:
- Unplug all your phones and devices from every phone jack on your line (phones, answering machines, fax machines, modems, splitters, etc).
- Wait at least 60 seconds, then plug in a basic corded phone.
- Listen for noise on your phone line. If the line sounds clear, plug in another device and then listen again. If the line remains clear, continue plugging in the rest of your devices, checking for noise after each one.
- If you are using a cordless phone, move the receiver closer to the base.
If after completing the above & you are still experiencing Internet connectivity issues, for further assistance, please contact Bell Home phone Tech support by: Chat or by calling : 611 or 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial #611 from any Bell mobile device.
Let the Community know if you need help with anything else.
Take care
