Why does it say on my computer my current location is Brampton (I am in Bobcaygeon) on the Weather Network

It's based on geo data linked to the IP address assigned to your internet connection.
Sometimes you get an IP from a different region, hence the wrong location.

Hey there @LLB
Thanks for reaching out to the Bell community 🙂
Just wanted to jump in here and see if your location is still incorrect on the Weather Network? Do other websites that use location services also show a different location?
If so, are you using a VPN, and have you checked your device to ensure that location services are turned ON?
Keep us posted.

This is on a laptop and desktop. I didn’t know they had location services. All was fine until about 6 weeks ago

Funny thing, other websites do have the correct location. And, after checking, my location services are on.

Hi @LLB
Does this happen on any other devices when checking the Weather Network (such a a mobile phone or tablet)?
Do you have any VPN service running and if so, have you tried turning it off to see if the issue persists?
Has this issue only started recently and do you know roughly when?
Looking forward to hearing back.

It is not happening on phones/tablets. I am now thinking it is just desktop/laptops that are doing it.
VPN is off
