Blocked Callers are sent directly to voicemail

How do I stop blocked callers from leaving spam voicemail?   I get a 48 second robocall message weekily from the same phone number and I need this to stop.

Why are Blocked Callers even directed to voicemail?  That is simply redirectling a call and NOT BLOCKING.

Can Bell Mobility block a specific 1-888 # or am I going to have to dissable my voicemail?

Telus offers a free screening sevice for this type of harrassment.  How about Bell ?

Thanks.

  • How to block voicemails from a number that been blocked.

Good Day & Welcome @onagonkat

Bell Mobility does not offer a call blocking feature per se to block incoming calls. You can block mobility phone numbers by using your mobile phone's built-in call settings.

Android Devices:

  • Via Phone App: Open the Phone app, tap the "Recents" tab, long-press the number you want to block, and select "Block/report spam".
  • Via Settings: Go to Settings in the Phone app > Blocked Numbers > Add a number.
  • Blocking Unknown Numbers: Inside the "Blocked Numbers" setting, toggle "Unknown" to block private/withheld numbers.

iOS Devices (iPhone):

  • Open the Phone app and tap "Recents".
  • Tap the "i" info icon next to the phone number you want to block.
  • Scroll down and tap "Block this Caller".

Blocked numbers on a mobile device will go directly to voicemail. The mobile phone rejects the call and will send it to voicemail. The recipient will not receive notifications. The blocked caller can still leave a message.

The only way to eliminate a message from being left is to completely remove voicemail as well.  This is an account level change.  If you are the primary account owner, this can be completed by a Bell Community Moderator.
