Hi, I can't seem to make a call to China. I want to know why. Does my mobile rate plan include free international calls? Thank you!

Hi there @Ethan.

Welcome to the Community.

When calling a country aside from Canada and the US, first make sure you're using the correct dialing pattern for the country in question.

Secondly, you can check under My Plan in your MyBell profileOpens in a new tab or window to confirm if you have any restrictions on international and/or US calling in place. As an example, you may see "Restrict outgoing international calls" underneath Add-ons and promotional data. If you do see a restriction, you'll need to contact Customer ServiceOpens in a new tab or window at that time for assistance in having it removed.

Good Day & Welcome

Thank you for your question.

This is a peer-to-peer website. We do not have access to your account & equipment records. In order to assist you further can you please provide us with some additional details:

  1. Make & model of your mobile device.
  2. Do you have a monthly or prepaid Bell mobility plan?
  3. Does your Bell mobility plan allow for international calling? Do you have an international calling restriction add-on in place? Changes in plan or removal of calling restrictions cannot be completed on this forum.

To make a long-distance call to China from Canada your mobility plan must allow for this. If there are no restirctions in place:

  1. Dial the Exit Code: Press 011 to signal an international call.
  2. Enter China's Code: Dial 86
  3. Enter Area/City Code: Dial the local area code (e.g., for Shanghai, use 21).
  4. Dial the Number: Enter the local phone number.

Example: 011 86 (Area Code) (Local Number)

Should you require further help, you will need to call Bell Mobility Customer Service at: 1 800 667-0123 or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.

Take care.

I'm having trouble making calls to mainland China mobile phones using my Canadian data plan; multiple numbers are simply unreachable. However, I can make calls from other phones. I've even reinstalled my phone's firmware, but the problem persists. Can't Bill solve this simple problem?  I've never encountered such a problem before
