Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Which mobility plan do you subscribe to? Is this a Monthly plan or a Prepaid plan? Are you on a SmartPay 2 yr. rate plan? Have you reviewed your mobility agreement? Prepaid customers cannot temporarily suspend their mobile service.

If you have a SmartPay 2-yr contract, you are still responsible for the monthly SmartPay payments even if your Bell Mobility service is suspended.

Depending on your plan & your mobility agreement you may not be able to suspend your service.

A suspension of your services does not equate to a stoppage in billing. A one-time suspension charge of $49 will be applied to your next bill. Monthly service charges will be prorated within 1–2 billing cycles.

In order to suspend or cancel your service, you will need to contact Bell Mobility.

The following web link will be of assistance to you if you wish to suspend a service.

Important for users to know that currently Bell does not stop billing on suspension of mobility plans.  You may notice their absence on the flat $49 fee listed under your MyBell account due to this distinction.  You can stop billing of your internet for example, but not any mobility line.  I honestly can't think of another service that will happily suspend services but continue to bill the at the same rate, but that's currently the situation.  1 hour on the phone to confirm this.

Due to a long-term trip, I would like to temporarily suspend my mobile service so that I don’t get charged during this period.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

We cannot temporarily suspend your mobile service on the Bell Community Forum. This is a peer-to-peer website. As such, we do not have access to your account & billing details.

My tv is on a seasonal suspension at my cottage. There is no power or internet so I brought the box home. Do I need to keep the box plugged in? Last year, when it was not plugged in to power or internet my card that goes in the box wouldn't work.

Good Day & Welcome

Thank you for posting your question.

There is no need or requirement for you to leave your satellite receivers plugged in at your cottage on a seasonal suspension.

When you return to your cottage, you should plug in your satellite TV receivers one day before your scheduled reactivation so that they can communicate with the service reactivation system.

If your channels don’t return after you reactivated your service, you may need to synchronize your programming.

Take care.

I want hold on my service for one month 31dec2025 to 30 jan 2026 thanks

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

We cannot seasonally suspend your account on the Bell Community Forum. This is a peer-to-peer website. As such, we do not have access to your account & billing details.

In MyBell, you can temporarily suspend your TV, Internet and Home phone services when they are not needed.

Set up a temporary service suspension

  1. Select the services to suspend.
  2. Choose your start and end dates.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. Review the request and select Submit.

The suspension takes effect between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. on the requested day.

If you wish to suspend your services, you can do so from between one month and six months. I have included all of the pertinent details for you below.

A one-time suspension charge of $49 will be applied to your next bill. There is no additional charge when your service suspension ends, and your services are restored. Monthly service charges will be prorated within 1–2 billing cycles. The amount depends on the dates when the suspension takes effect and when it ends.  Monthly rental charges (for example if you rent-to-own a TV receiver) will continue to apply as per the terms of service.

The following web link will be of assistance to you if you wish to suspend a service.

Good Day & Welcome

You can choose to suspend your Internet service from one to six months. Keep in mind, you will no longer be able to access the Internet with your Bell Internet connection. If you subscribe to Fibe TV, Home phone, etc., these services will also be deactivated.

You will still be able to access your Bell email from another Internet connection.

Please follow these step-by-step instructions:

  1. Simply visit: MyBell.
  2. Select > Internet on the opening MyBell services webpage.
  3. On the right side of the page, Select > Set up a temporary service suspension.
  4. Select > Internet & enter the Start & End date.
  5. Select > continue at the bottom of the page.
  6. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the transaction.

Please note: There is a one-time suspension charge of $49 that will be applied on your next bill.
