Unclear billing after transfer of ownership

Hi Bell,

I was recently assigned a new account number because you said I can't change the name on the old account on which my mobility was registered but which i have been paying and never defaulted. I was charged $50 for that.

I merged my new account with the new home internet I got. But I didn't get the promotions promised because your sales agent decided to play smart. I sent a message here and I go an email confirmation that I was in the right. I was credited $33.60 thereabouts which I left in my MTS account. But as of today, the supposed $33.60 credited to my account to cover for the promotions is no longer reflecting in my account. I did not use it as payment for anything. Where did it disappear to?

Now I got two different bills for this billing cycle - $86.75 and $153.95. Which is the correct one. And the bill is unclear, I will need clear explanations because your agents seem unable to do that.

Also, I was debited $5.61 for my device on the old bill. Why is that. What is the assurance that I was not charged in  this current bill which or I wont be billed on my old account next month. I cannot understand and no agent seem to be able to give proper explanations. Please cancel the pre-authorised payment on the old account because I called my bank and they said it is Bell who would do the needful. I had also tried to cancel the pre-authorised payment on my end.

Also, do you guys send physical gift cards or only virtual ones.

Hey there @beebee ,

Welcome to the community and thanks for your post.

When you do a Transfer of Responsibility (Ownership), the system legally closes the old account and creates a brand-new one under your name.

Because your services were moved to a completely separate account number, it triggers a new billing cycle which means you will be receiving a new bill under your name.

The $5.61 on the bill for your old account would be the most recent scheduled payment for your contracted phone; you would not see an additional device payment on the recent bills you cite after completing the transfer, instead seeing the next device payment for your bill this month. You can confirm this by reviewing your bill and looking for "Monthly Device Payment" under the Mobility segment of your Bell services.
