Can I use an app instead of a TV Remote?

The buttons on my remote are starting to not work. Is there an app to use on my phone that I can download? I am trying to cut down on costs and the receiver is older so I don't want to buy another remote.

Good day @Bernie1,

Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post 🙂

Can you share which remote you have and the make/model of your receiver?

If you have an MxV3, an MxV4 or a Slim remote, you can use the Fibe TV app to control live TV on your receiver.

Check out the articles below to learn how to pair your receiver to the Fibe TV app, and how to use it to control your receiver.

Your remote needs to be paired with the Fibe TV app for this feature to work.

This feature is only applicable to the following receivers: VIP2262, VIP1232, VIP1216, VIP1200, VIP2202, VIP2102 and VIP2502.

Please refer to the following weblink for detailed instructions:

Yeah it works on iOS and Android, but it doesn’t have complete functionality as the receiver. The picture quality is merely 2.1GB/h instead of 3 for 1080P unless you cast to your TV, and there’s no 4K.

What TV package do you have right now? Have you considered switching to the starter pack only or plus the minimum a la carte?

This doesn't work for me.  My Fibe TV app does not have any choice for Pairing a Receiver.  Screenshot 2026-01-29 at 17.57.50.png
