Hello @Edgar73 the Bell Community is a place for you to ask questions, find answers and share your thoughts on all of our products and services with other Bell customers like you. This is a true peer-to-peer community space; where we encourage you to connect with other community members, help each other by asking and answering questions, share thoughts, ideas and solutions. You can check out Welcome to the Community! from the Getting Started panel on the right hand side for helpful information about the community and the people that make it a great place to connect.

Additionally, should you need any support and the community members are unable to help, any one of the Moderators will jump in to assist, you can see who they are in the section Meet the Moderators under Getting Started.

With Bell Fibe TV Cloud PVR you get:

  • Multi-Screen & On-the-Go Viewing: Older hard drive centric PVR equipment limit your recordings and setting your recordings to the physical hard drive on your main receiver – save for the specific ‘Whole Home PVR’ setup.  As Bell Fibe TV recordings now live in the cloud, customers can access, schedule, and watch their recorded programs across smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, laptops, or other VIP7802 TV receivers by using the Fibe TV App. Your TV and recordings wherever, even on the go!
  • No hardware failures and subsequent loss of recordings: Physical hard drives can overheat, degrade, and fail given enough time. If a traditional hard drive receiver failed, a customer lost all their saved content…forever. With Bell Fibe TV Cloud PVR, if your physical VIP7802 receiver fails, the recordings remain safe in the cloud for the full 60 days and are instantly accessible on a replacement box and any tablet or phone with the Fibe TV App.

Thank you for this, but I cannot believe Bell's technical people are not smart enough to figure out a way to let people extend recordings for three hours (like Cogeco) or to manage their own disk space (like Cogeco).

All Good Points.  Speaking for ourselves, we are very happy with the service and are not considering going elsewhere.  We really like the convenience of multiple devices.  In fact, when staying at a hotel or vacation rental we just plug a Firestick into the TV, launch the Fibe app, and everything is there as if we were at home.  No more dealing with the basic hotel TV service.

However, at the time we switched to the new platform there was no 60 day limit or any mention that this might change.

We habitually record the whole season of a show so that we can watch one episode each night without waiting a week or more for the next one to show up.  We have been doing this for years and that is the way we like it.

The issue now is that a full season usually takes more than 60 days to fully air.  In the meantime, we have to keep checking for recorded episodes that might be reaching the 60 day limit and watching them before the full season airs.  It is just a real pain. Very inconvenient and not in line with our viewing preferences.  It gives the service an inflexible feel.

We do know quite a few people who do the same thing, are mildly miffed, but prefer to grumble to themselves about it.

An option for a 120 day limit would eliminate the issue for us and we would be happy to pay more for this.  Alternatively, a package with 120 days but less hours of storage, so that Bell’s storage cost is a wash, i.e., 120 days with 160 hour storage limit.  Double the days and half the storage hour limit.

If possible, I would like to hear some kind of response from Bell in terms of whether they plan to at least consider this or not.

Good Day & Welcome @SkiPro

Thank you for your input and feedback. All of your suggestions are definitely worth consideration. You certainly have taken the time to provide a number of scenarios.

The Bell developmental team continually monitors this website looking at ways, means & alternatives to improve your viewing experience.

Bell is open to ideas such as this. Whether they are even feasible is something that cannot be answered on this website.

Take care.
