Satellite Signal Locked - Name Not Acquired

I am unable to view a number of channels in my subscription. On investigation I have found that my receiver only accessing Satellite 91 , even numbered transponders, Locked - Nimiq 91 .

All odd number transponders report a status Locked - Name Not Acquired.

Are others experiencing this problem? It is not weather related at my end.

I spoke with Bell tech support but they only suggested a service call. By the time the technician arrived the fault had cleared. It has subsequently recurred multiple times.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I have 2 receivers both 6131's. I noticed only one had the fault condition. Unplugged and switched locations/feeds and found that the fault was cleared after the receiver reset.

Also did a check switch test on both receivers (competed without faults, this time). Though I am still seeing a drop down menu item for the decommissioned satellite 82.

Both receivers now supporting all of the subscribed channels.

Did you run a check switch?

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for posting your question.

When the technician arrived, did he do a complete check od your system out to see if there was any underlying factor that might be causing this sporadic loss of transponders?

Please have a look at these troubleshooting suggestions to see if they make a difference.

  1. Hard reset your receiver: Unplug the receiver's power cord directly from the wall outlet or power bar. Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
  2. Check for loose cables & connectors at the receiver and at the LNB on your satellite dish.
  3. Check for any nicks in the cables between the receiver and the LNB.
  4. Are there any error messages on your receiver?
  5. Verify your satellite dish and LNB are fastened securely.
  6. Perform a Check switch test. This process forces your receiver to re-identify the LNBs and switches connected to your dish. Bell Satellite TV signal fluctuates

Thank you for the update. It is normal to see satellite 82 in Check Switch.
